Meet Pickles & Tater 🥒🥔

These adorable bonded adult agouti hooded boys are truly some of the sweetest rats we’ve had come through rescue. They absolutely love people, happily give kisses, and are always excited to be out spending time with their humans.

They’re incredibly social, easygoing boys and would do well in a variety of homes — including families with children. Cases like this don’t come around often, and we’re especially grateful we were able to step in and help them after they came from a difficult domestic violence situation. They’ve clearly been very loved, and we want to make sure they find the safe, forever home they deserve next.

Pickles & Tater will be available toward the end of the month, and we’d love to have the right home lined up for them soon.

We’re so happy to share that all of the boys from our three spring intake litters have found their forever homes 💛

27 rats in total we have been able to help in just under two months and we couldn’t have done that without you  Now we’re surprised to still have a lovely group of girls waiting with us!

These sweet girls are truly something special—playful, fun, curious, and absolutely adorable. We would love to see this remaining baby girl trio settled into loving homes before we welcome the next round of litters into rescue at the end of the month. Applications will begin being reviewed Monday, so now is the perfect time to get your email in.

These girls would be a wonderful fit for many homes, including families with older children, confident beginner first-time rat owners, or homes seeking companions for an established female colony or cagemate need.

🚨 Meet the JMCS Boys Club – Joseph, Mimir, Caesar & Steve 🚨

We truly can’t believe these boys are still here!

They came to us after their owner lost housing and made the incredibly hard, selfless decision to surrender them so they could continue to be cared for and loved. And you can tell—they are some of the sweetest, most social boys we’ve had in a long time.

Their foster mom calls them a 10/10 group. They’re friendly, affectionate, and easygoing—the kind of rats that run up to greet you and want to be part of everything. They would do well in just about any home, including first-time owners or families.

They’re also very bonded and must be adopted together as a group of four—they truly thrive as a unit. They’re about 6 months to a year old, healthy, and ready to go home now. Adoption fee is a $40 flat fee for all four.

We’ve been incredibly lucky 💕 to help a lot of rats recently—taking in more than usual and even expanding foster space to keep up with the ever increasing number of surrenders coming in this year and oops litters. Because of that, we’re way beyond capacity and pausing new intakes until we can make room again.

Right now, we have 30+ amazing, highly adoptable rats in foster—sweet adults, great beginner rats, and lots of adorable babies ready for homes. This is honestly one of the most adoptable groups we’ve ever had at once, and we don’t often find ourselves in a spot where so many incredible rats are waiting without homes lined up so if you’ve been thinking about adopting, this is the time. Choosing adoption truly makes a difference and helps us continue doing this work responsibly! 👐😇👐

If adopting isn’t an option, we could really use donations of:
— Critter Nation cages
— Hammocks & things
— Rat food
— Fleece/blankets/pillowcases

Meet Bonnie, Alba, Buggy & Sophie 🤍

These sweet girls came to us from a few different situations—most of them were living solo and just needed a chance to be part of something again. Since being with us, they’ve really started to come out of their shells, and it’s been so rewarding to watch their personalities bloom.

Bonnie, Alba, and Buggy have formed a lovely little trio. They’re a calmer, more easygoing group—perfect for someone looking for relaxed, affectionate companions with just the right mix of curiosity and charm. They’d do great with a confident beginner and could even be good candidates introductions to other females.

Sophie, while just as special, prefers people over other rats and will be looking for a home where she can shine as a solo girl. She’s social with humans and would thrive with someone who wants that one-on-one bond. With slow, thoughtful, careful introductions she might be integrated with other friendly females. 

We think these girls could be a wonderful fit for the right home—including families (depending on meet & greet), or anyone looking to add some gentle, loving energy to their space.

A cute PEW PEW PEW explosion here at the GRR! In order to help out with the ongoing greater influx of ‘oops’ litters we’re seeing this year, we have accepted the next round of babies from the Lucky litter beyond our usual capacity. These adorable boys and girls are extra special, they are our most social litter to come in.

We have five girls and four boys up for adoption NOW! Girls can be adopted along with any of the other girls remaining from Smokey or the Love litters, the four boys will likely be placed as a group. LAST MINUTE INTAKE - 4 SUPER GIRLS

Meet Lou, Brick, Smudge and Coleslaw! These girls came to us when their owner was given the ultimatum: the rats go or they were going to be homeless. We were able to get these girls in super last minute thanks to a new Foster joining our team. And we are glad we did, these girls are fantastic! All of them are avid explorers, curious, fun adventures, who also greatly enjoy using people as jungle gyms. Temperaments vary from being very very people oriented and always wanting to be on you to more of the quiet cuddle bug in the back. You get a great wide diversity of personalities with this case.

Came in underweight, but otherwise these girls are happy and healthy. After getting to know them a little bit, we do recommend them for more experienced owners and homes no young kids. These girls are also very bonded so we’ll be placed as a group of four.
