🐾🏆 THE GIRLS ARE HOME & THEY DID AMAZING! 🏆🐾
This weekend, our resident trainer Megan, her husband, and their two girls, Magnolia (Trouble) and Rosie, headed to their very first NASDA (North American Sport Dog Association) event, and they came home with some exciting accomplishments to share! 🎉🐶
🏅 Magnolia (Trouble) – German Shorthaired Pointer
• Earned her Shed Dog Level 1 title!
• Earned her Urban Locating Level 1 title!
• Earned a High in Trial award! 🏆
🏅 Rosie – Australian Shepherd
• Earned her Urban Locating Level 1 title!
• Earned a High in Trial award! 🏆
🌿 What is Urban Locating?
On Friday, we shared a little about Shed Dog, but the girls also competed in another exciting scent sport called Urban Locating!
Urban Locating is a NASDA scent sport where dogs use their incredible noses to locate live rats safely secured inside specially designed containers. 🐀
Unlike Shed Dog, which involves searching for naturally shed deer antlers, Urban Locating challenges dogs to search in human-made environments such as buildings, warehouses, barns, and other developed areas.
Dogs must work through different smells and distractions to locate the hidden quarry and communicate their discovery to their handlers. The rats remain safely protected inside their containers throughout the search.
It’s a wonderful way for dogs to showcase their natural instincts, problem-solving abilities, confidence, and teamwork with their handlers! 🐾
💜 THANK YOU, RAE-ZOR FAMILY! 💜
We want to thank everyone who wished Megan and the girls good luck before their big weekend! Your support and encouragement mean so much!
We couldn’t be prouder of them and everything they accomplished during their first NASDA weekend!
Three new titles, two High in Trial awards, and lots of wonderful memories made! 🏆🐾❤️
