Last week, 309 dogs arrived across the Fulton and DeKalb County shelters managed by LifeLine Animal Project. Today, Fulton County Animal Services is more than 86 dogs over capacity, and DeKalb County Animal Services is more than 40 dogs over capacity.

Behind every number is an animal waiting for a second chance.

Our teams continue to provide care, medical support, enrichment, and shelter for every animal who comes through our doors, but the community plays a critical role in creating lifesaving outcomes. Every adoption and every foster home creates space for another pet in need.

It's National Foster Month, and we're celebrating one of the biggest ways our community saves lives: adopting a foster pet. ❤️

Throughout June, foster-to-adopt pets are available with waived adoption fees.

Why adopt a foster pet?

Two years. That’s how long Charlie Brown has been waiting in foster for someone to choose him. ❤️

Thanks to a successful adoption event today, more than 20 dogs and cats found a home! We couldn't be happier for these amazing animals as they begin their next chapter with their new families.

Let's celebrate some of the faces who found homes today! Each adoption represents a second chance, a fresh start, and a family that chose to open their hearts to a pet in need. We wish all of our adopters and their new furry family members a lifetime of happiness, love, and unforgettable memories together.

While we're celebrating these wonderful adoptions, many deserving dogs and cats are still waiting patiently for their turn. Their families may not have found them today, but we know their day is coming.

Thank you to everyone who attended, shared our posts, supported our shelter, and most importantly, chose adoption. Today was a reminder of how much of a difference our community can make.

Meet Laina! This sweet 4 year old girl is equal parts fun and affection. She loves a game of fetch, plenty of pets and scratches, and will do just about anything for a treat.

Laina did well with other dogs during her assessment, showing she can be a calm and polite companion. She even rocked her photoshoot like a superstar!
