LOOK WHO’S BACK! ALICE IS DOING GREAT!

Alice is back to see Dr. Jackson for her follow up after undergoing life saving surgery for a pyometra, a serious infection of the uterus.

We are happy to report that Alice is doing great and has returned to her normal self!

Seeing a patient come back happy and healthy after a medical emergency is one of the most rewarding parts of veterinary medicine.

IT’S NEUTER DAY FOR ARLO!

Arlo is here today with Dr. Jackson for his neuter procedure!

Neutering is one of the most common procedures performed in veterinary medicine. In addition to preventing unwanted litters, neutering eliminates the risk of testicular cancer and may reduce the risk of certain prostate related conditions and hormone driven behaviors.

Every patient is evaluated individually before anesthesia to make sure we develop a plan that is appropriate for their health, age, and individual needs.

BUTTONS IS HEADED HOME!

Buttons was referred to Dr. Jackson from an emergency animal hospital for assistance with removing a bladder stone that was preventing her from being able to urinate.

An inability to urinate is a serious medical emergency. Bladder stones can cause irritation, pain, blood in the urine, frequent attempts to urinate, and in some cases can obstruct the normal flow of urine.

Depending on the type, size, and location of the stones, surgical removal may be necessary.

Thankfully, Buttons’ surgery went well! Dr. Jackson was able to remove the stone, and her family will be very happy to have their girl back home and recovering.

Cases like Buttons are an important reminder to pay attention to changes in your pet’s urinary habits. If your pet is repeatedly attempting to urinate, producing little or no urine, appears painful, or has blood in the urine, seek veterinary attention immediately.

When something suddenly changes with your pet, pay attention!

Chase, a longtime patient of Dr. Jackson, came in after suddenly developing severe itching.

What makes this case interesting is that Chase does not have a history of allergies, so Dr. Jackson wants to rule out a possible allergic reaction and investigate what may have triggered this sudden change.

Dogs can develop allergies even if they have never struggled with them before. However, sudden severe itching can have several possible causes, which is why a thorough examination and history are important.

BIG LATTO! But this time, we’re talking about allergies!

Watch as Dr. Jackson examines LATTO for signs of allergies.

Allergies are extremely common in dogs and can cause itching, licking, irritated skin, recurring ear infections, paw chewing, and hair loss. Finding the underlying cause is important because allergies can become a chronic problem if they are not properly managed.

Just like the rapper says, “Big Latto!” Our LATTO deserves BIG relief from that itching too!

If your dog is constantly scratching, licking, or dealing with recurring skin or ear problems, it may be time for an allergy workup.
