Everyone involved in the equestrian community needs to pay very close attention to this case. This is the future of all equestrian business and even private farms that are visible to the public. The extremism of some animal advocates will have us forfeiting ownership of animals based on senseless information and use of AI in the future. This is not a one off thing as extremist continue to target anything they deem "abuse".

Headed home from a clinic in Maine this weekend at Chelsea Canedy Horsemanship and Performance at Unexpected Farm.

I had an amazing time, such great participants and their horse, and a great group of curious and open minded spectators.

There were some great changes in horses, but probably none more than the horses professional trainers who were in the clinic. These people train horses all day every day, and are really good at what they do.

So what did I do to have the professionals horses be even better ?

The hard stuff?

No.

The technical stuff?

No.

It was the basics.

It was about being a little more particular about the basics. Not picky. Not pedantic. Just more particular.

Then when then they started doing the bigger stuff, it was better without even working on it.

If that confuses you, think about it this way. Think about going to walk somewhere. If you alter your direction 5 degrees at the start, 10 feet later you’d think you were still on the same path. But 10 miles later you are somewhere completely different than you would be if you hadn’t made that small adjustment.

As the dance saying says “beginning dancers tend to take intermediate lessons, intermediate dancers tend to take advanced lessons, but advanced take beginning lessons”.

Late teens, 16.2, trail broke, loads, leads, ties, good for the farrier, vet, ect. All the things a good horse should be able to do!

Hes not your small frys next barrel horse but he could be your tag-along trail horse. He doesnt love leaving his friends but when hes out with them hes pretty darn cool. No buck, bolt, not spooky in any sense.

Hes not for beginners but a confident intermediate could handle him with ease, he is very forward is all. On the trail he might be husband safe but for now im recommending him as a weekend warrior type horse for someone who rides with others. Hes not spooky, does all the bathing, tying, leading, ect. Great for the farrier. Loads into any trailer, point him in and let him go and he will load himself.

No maintenance, suuuper easy keeper, up to date on everything until October.
