Last week, we wrapped up 25 Classroom Kits for Newton County students! 🌱

As teachers, educators, and students re-enter the classroom, what activities do you have planned to bring learning to life this year?

Project-Based Learning (PBL) gives students the opportunity to move beyond simply learning a concept to actually applying it in real-world environments. Through hands-on projects, students can explore, problem-solve, collaborate, and discover how what they’re learning connects to the world around them.

At Produce’d, our Classroom Kits are designed to help educators bring those experiences directly into the classroom through hydroponics, STEM, sustainability, and AgTech.

Community partnerships are at the heart of everything we do! 🌱 Every pre-apprentice and intern who joined us this summer was made possible through the support of incredible community partners.

Our Workforce Development Program is off to a great start, and we’re so grateful for the organizations investing in the next generation.

A huge thank you to United Way of Greater Atlanta and CareerRise | ATL Workforce for identifying and sponsoring our pre-apprentices:
🌿 Christian, who focused on Operations & Engineering
🌿 Carilee, who focused on Community Wellness

Both students were interviewed and selected by CareerRise | ATL Workforce to support the important work happening at the farm. They’ll both be heading into their senior year of high school this fall!

We’re also thankful to HYPE for making it possible to host Sydney as an intern. Sydney has been an engaged participant in their program and spent the summer focusing on AgTech & Operations Process Development. She is completing her associate degree and will begin pursuing her bachelor’s degree this fall!

Each of these students brought dedication, curiosity, and excellence to their roles. We are incredibly proud of who they are today and excited to see who they continue to become.

Wow what a Summer!

We are exceptionally proud of our United Way Pre Apprenticeship Students and Hype in Tech Intern! These young innovators committed to a Summer of plants, community, workforce readiness and STEAM Summer Camp leaders (their favorite part 😂). They showed up and found their way around the farm and made their very own imprint at Produce’d.

This past Friday they presented recaps of their experience here with us at Produce’d. Each presentations showed a different perspective including a pitch. They each captured their unique experience for our collective growth.

Carilee dove into community wellness and food accessibility writing blogs centering community care, health, tradition and culture. Sydney showed us how to improve our processes. She developed System Operating Procedures while implementing new useful tools on the farm. Christian led the charge on operations and engineering AgTech solution with the GrowBlock hydroponics system.

We couldn’t have asked for a better group of young minds to fully kick off our Workforce Development Program. They’ve created the foundation of what we hope will continue to grow the future for all of us🌱

🌱 Week One of Grow Up STEAM Hydroponics Summer Camp is in the books! 🌱

This past week our campers explored how agriculture, technology, engineering, and creativity come together to solve real-world problems.

They:
💧 Built and explored hydroponic and aquaponic systems
🍞 Learned entrepreneurship through homestyle baking and recipe development
⚡ Designed and tested electrical circuits with our partners at Georgia Power
🦋 Used biomimicry to design nature-inspired hydroponic systems
🌿 Discovered how innovation begins by observing the world around us

Every activity challenged students to think like scientists, engineers, entrepreneurs, and problem-solvers while building confidence in the careers shaping the future of agriculture.

We can’t wait to see what they create next!

First Day Recap!

Summer Camp is off to a great start. The campers dove into Hydroponics 101 & Aquaponics (yes with fish)! Each student was able to dive into the tank and explore the farm with curious eyes.

STEM Forward has been such a rewarding experience! This year we partnered with as a STEM Professional supporting Huie Elementary. Their project focused on beautifying their campus to include outdoor learning and using hydroponics to start their garden. It was a great collaborative year!

The students did such a great job at the End of Year Celebration reflecting on all of the hard work they’ve done through the year. We can’t wait until next year to re-engage with the students and schools! 🌱

Meet Abigail - Summer a Camp Coordinator!

Abigail helped us bring the vision to life last year. She made sure we had the resources we needed to support the students day to day and even made sure we took care of ourselves. Her education background has truly helped to shape the vision of Produce’d!

Your students are in good hands whenever she is present in the space. She has been an exceptional part of our team and we love hearing her recap about last year!

Counting down the days! 🌱

We’re excited to host our Hydroponics STEAM Summer Camp for rising 3rd–8th graders this year!
This immersive, hands-on camp experience reminds students what sits at the center of home and their relationship with food. Throughout the week, students will design, build, explore hydroponics, and learn through STEAM while having fun.
We’ve partnered with schools across multiple counties so more students can join us this summer!
