🐾 It’s National Veterinary Technician Week, and today we’re putting the spotlight on the one who wears about 47 different hats around here.. our Head Veterinary Technician, Kadi! 🧡

With 16 years of experience in veterinary medicine, Kadi has dedicated nearly half her life to caring for animals! Since joining the Brushwood family in 2020, she’s become a little bit of everything around here. Veterinary nurse, anesthetist, phlebotomist, pharmacist, radiology technician, receptionist, problem solver, and occasionally, a professional chaos coordinator.

Whether she’s juggling a million things at once, anticipating what our doctors need before they even ask, or making sure every patient receives the best possible care, Kadi somehow manages to keep the wheels turning!

Outside of her dedication to veterinary medicine, Kadi has a HUGE heart for animal rescue, especially the seniors and the ones who need a little extra love. Give her a grumpy Chihuahua, a Rottweiler in need of butt scratches, or a Bulldog with some irresistible wrinkles, and she’s in her happy place!

Thank you, Kadi, for your dedication, knowledge, compassion, and for always going above and beyond for our patients and their families!

🐾🩵It’s National Veterinary Technician Week, and today we’re giving a little extra love to our amazing Veterinary Assistant, Krystal! 🩵

Since joining the Brushwood family in 2022, Krystal has brought endless smiles, laughter, and a whole lot of positive energy to our clinic!

Whether she’s lending a helping hand, keeping us organized, comforting a nervous patient, or jumping at the opportunity to learn something new, Krystal does it all with a smile! Even on the craziest of days (and trust us, we have plenty 🤪), her bubbly personality and kind heart never go unnoticed.

Krystal, thank you for always being willing to go the extra mile, for your dedication to our patients, and for bringing a little sunshine into even our most chaotic days! We appreciate you more than you know! 🩵

🐾💜It’s National Veterinary Technician Week, and today we’re celebrating our one and only, DIANE! 💜

Since 2020, Diane has been keeping the Brushwood crew on their toes, our days running smoothly, and our patients showered with love!

If there’s a feisty feline in the building, chances are Diane is already making friends with it. While the rest of us might be negotiating with a very opinionated cat, Diane somehow manages to convince them they’re best friends. We’re still trying to figure out her secret. 🤣

And let’s talk about her love for pit bulls! 💜 Whether they’re big, small, goofy, misunderstood, or just looking for someone to love them, Diane is first in line to hand out the hugs and kisses. Rescue pitties hold an extra-special place in her heart!

Behind the scenes, Diane is always lending a hand, looking out for her coworkers, and making sure our patients receive the kindness and compassion they deserve. Her dedication doesn’t go unnoticed, and we’re incredibly lucky to have her as part of our little Brushwood family.

Diane, thank you for six years of hard work, endless compassion, and putting up with the rest of us! We appreciate you more than you know!

🐾❤️ Happy National Veterinary Technician Week! ❤️🐾

Being a veterinary technician is so much more than a career. It takes physical strength, mental resilience, emotional endurance, and an extraordinary amount of compassion.

It’s long hours, aching bodies, missed lunches, and emotionally exhausting days. It’s celebrating the lives we save while carrying the heartbreak of those we couldn’t. It’s comforting frightened animals, supporting worried owners, and loving patients as if they were our own.

This profession is not for the faint of heart. Yet, despite the challenges, we continue to show up because the animals are worth it. ❤️

To every veterinary technician who has chosen this incredibly demanding yet rewarding career, THANK YOU. Thank you for your sacrifices, dedication, compassion, and all the little things that often go unseen.

🎸🐾 ROCK & ROLL ALL NITE… AND RESCUE SENIORS EVERY DAY! 🤘🤣

Dr. Lawson has been helping Live Free Animal Rescue with their incredible Golden Years Program, giving senior dogs the love, medical care, and second chances they deserve. ❤️

These sweet old souls should be spending their golden years curled up in warm, cozy beds, being spoiled rotten, and living their best retirement lives. Instead, they were abandoned when they needed love the most. 💔

Thankfully, they’ve got some pretty amazing people in their corner, including Dr. Lawson! 🥹🐾

Now, we couldn’t help but notice a certain resemblance in this photo… so naturally, we had to call upon the powers of the internet to bring in Dr. Lawson’s long-lost rockstar twin, Gene Simmons from KISS! 🤣🎸

Three legends. Three tongues. One very questionable family resemblance. 👅😂

Because rescuing senior dogs ROCKS, and apparently, so does sticking your tongue out! 🤘🐶❤️

A huge thank-you to Dr. Lawson for helping these forgotten seniors get the care and happy endings they deserve. You’re a rockstar in our book! ❤️

🐾 A Friendly Safety Reminder from Brushwood Veterinary Clinic! 🐾

We know many of our 4-legged patients are friendly, love meeting new people, and enjoy making new furry friends! ❤️ However, not every pet feels the same way. We see patients who may be fearful, nervous, dog-aggressive, or human-aggressive, and even the sweetest pet can react unexpectedly when stressed.

As part of our protocol here at Brushwood, we ask that:

🐕 Dogs are securely leashed from your vehicle into the clinic.
🐈 Cats are safely secured in a carrier when entering the clinic.

We also sit right on a sharp corner, and unfortunately, vehicles on our road don't always follow the speed limit. 🚗💨 The last thing we want is for a pet to slip away and run into the road.

Even if your pet is the friendliest pup or most confident kitty, please keep them safely secured from the car to the clinic. It helps keep your pet, our patients, and everyone around us safe. ❤️🐾

The booms, bangs, and sparkly sky explosions are almost here!

If your 4-legged family member turns into a trembling potato, hides in the bathtub, squeezes behind the couch, or suddenly forgets how to dog (or cat) when fireworks start, give us a call or send us an email before the holiday!

We can discuss options to help keep them calm, comfortable, and stress-free during the festivities. ❤️🐾
