Last Chance Corral was not able to take in this beauty, RG, so we’ll introduce him here. This is a tough decision for his horse momma, Rita. Her number is below should you have the proper facilities to help out sweet RG. He is located within 30 miles of Athens, Ohio.
“Please meet RG. He is a TWH approximately 15 hands. He is 17 years old. He has been my trail horse for 13 years. He is smart and easy going. Not spooky. He knows all the things…. leg pressure, neck reining, backing, side passing. He will go everywhere …woods, obstacles, water. He loads, he stands for farrier and for bathing.
The reason I’m selling him is because he needs a paddock with shade and water that will restrict his diet. I don’t have that. He has problems with over eating and especially on spring grass and after the first frost when the carbs are high. I have tried grass muzzles for the past couple years but he gets them off somehow. He overeats and he gets stiff and sore legs. I was told by a farrier about 6 years ago that he had been foundered at some point… I don’t know when this could have happened. He didn’t start having these issues until about 5 years ago. However, I believe with the proper facilities he can be healthy and sound.
I have him on a six-week trim with my farrier because his hooves do grow fast. Price is negotiable. His new forever home must have the facilities he needs.
My name is Rita Burgess
