Eastern Redbud (Cercis canadensis)
A favorite for spring landscapes in Athens, the Eastern Redbud bursts into bright pink flowers before its leaves even appear. This small to medium-sized tree adds early-season color to yards and parks, attracts pollinators, and thrives in the warm, humid climate of Georgia. Its heart-shaped leaves also provide a delicate backdrop after the bloom fades.

Southern Red Oak (Quercus falcata)
The Southern Red Oak is a long-lived, sturdy shade tree that dominates southern landscapes. With deeply lobed leaves that turn rich shades of red in the fall, this oak provides habitat for birds and squirrels and can withstand the heat and occasional droughts of the Athens area. It’s perfect for homeowners and public spaces looking for a classic southern canopy.

American Holly (Ilex opaca)
Evergreen and elegant, the American Holly brings year-round interest to Athens landscapes. Its glossy green leaves and bright red berries in winter offer color during the dormant season and food for local wildlife.
