This week, we want to give YOU a chance to celebrate them, too! 🎉

☀️🐶 **Extreme Heat is Here – Keep Your Pets Safe!** 🐱

Hot summer days can be dangerous for our pets. Dogs and cats can overheat much faster than we do, so it's important to take a few extra precautions during periods of extreme heat.

Here are some simple ways to keep your pets safe:

💧 **Provide plenty of fresh, cool water** at all times.

🏡 **Keep pets indoors or in the shade** during the hottest part of the day. If it's too hot for you, it's probably too hot for them!

🌅 **Exercise during cooler hours.** Walk dogs early in the morning or later in the evening when temperatures are lower.

🐾 **Check the pavement.** Hot asphalt and concrete can burn paw pads.

🚗 **Never leave your pet in a parked vehicle.** Even with the windows cracked, the temperature inside a car can become life-threatening within minutes.

👀 **Know the signs of heatstroke:**
• Excessive panting or difficulty breathing
• Bright red gums or tongue
• Drooling
• Weakness or lethargy
• Vomiting or diarrhea
• Collapse

If you think your pet is overheating, move them to a cool area, offer small amounts of cool (not ice-cold) water, and contact us immediately. Heatstroke is a medical emergency, and prompt treatment can save your pet's life.

Stay cool, stay hydrated, and enjoy your summer safely! ☀️🐾

📞 If you have any questions or concerns about your pet during this heat wave, we're here to help.

🎆 Plan Ahead for the Fourth of July! 🎆

The Fourth of July can be one of the most stressful times of the year for our pets. Loud fireworks and celebrations can trigger fear, panic, and dangerous escape behaviors in dogs with noise sensitivity.

Please plan ahead! Our clinic will be closed on Friday, July 3rd, so if your pet needs any medications—including medication for noise sensitivity—please request your refills early.

🐾 Please allow at least 48 hours for all prescription refill requests. Waiting until the last minute may mean we are unable to have your pet's medication ready before the holiday.

If you have questions about whether your pet could benefit from medication to help them through the fireworks, give us a call. We're happy to help make sure your furry family members stay as safe and comfortable as possible this Fourth of July.

📞 Text or call our office today to request your pet's refills before the holiday! 269-787-7040

❤️ Wishing everyone a safe and happy Independence Day!

✨✨ Big News ✨✨

We are beyond excited to officially welcome Dr. Skyla Reynolds to our practice this June as a mixed animal veterinarian!

Some of you may recognize Skyla—she first walked through our doors as a high school student with a passion for veterinary medicine and a drive that was impossible to miss. Watching her put in the work, head off to vet school, and now return to us as a doctor has been something pretty special.

Skyla is the definition of a go-getter. When she’s not caring for your animals, you’ll likely find her outdoors—training field bred labradors, out fishing and hunting or just enjoying everything nature has to offer.

We’re incredibly proud of the veterinarian she’s become and couldn’t be more excited to have her back where it all started—this time as part of our doctor team.

Please join us in giving Dr. Skyla Reynolds a warm welcome back! 🐾
