🐾 Meet Mickey and Zach- our most recent adoptable cats! 🐾

These sweet boys are looking for a fresh start and a family to call their own. ❤️

Mickey recently lost his human mom and is adjusting to a lot of changes. He’s a little shy right now, but has been incredibly sweet with our team since arriving. Mickey is also carrying around a little extra fluff, so he’ll be looking for a family to support him on his weight-loss journey!

Zach was found outside on Christmas Eve and is the sweetest boy ever! He has an outgoing and affectionate personality. He has early kidney disease, which we suspect was from a poor diet or toxin when outside, but he does not need any medication right now, just routine blood monitoring!

The Astoria Park Carnival is back this weekend and right in our backyard! 🎡🌃🍿 Nothing beats those glowing LED rides lighting up the night in Astoria Park. Grab your friends, get some fried Oreos, and go make some memories! We do recommend keeping your pets at home for this one since it gets pretty crowded. ✨🎪

🌍✈️ Traveling with your furry best friend this summer? A little prep goes a long way! 🐾🚙

Whether you are hitting the open road or catching a flight, here are our top tips for stress-free travels with your pet:

🧳 Pack the Essentials: Always bring their favorite familiar toys, a cozy blanket, and plenty of their usual food/meds to help them adjust.

🛑 Plan Rest Stops: If you’re driving, take frequent breaks so they can sniff, stretch, and hydrate.

🏷️ Safety First: Ensure their microchip info and ID tags are up to date before you leave. Secure them in a carrier or seatbelt harness while moving.

🩺 Vet Prep: Pin the nearest emergency vet clinics at your destination just in case!

🌡️ Mind the Heat: Never leave your pet unattended in a parked car, and check pavement temps before walking.

National Heat Awareness Day is here, and it’s a great reminder to keep our furry friends safe from the dangers of heat! 🌞 Leaving your dog in the car, even for a few minutes, can be deadly. Temperatures inside a car can rise rapidly, causing heat stroke and other serious conditions.

To keep your dog safe in the heat:

* Never leave your dog in a parked car, even with the windows cracked.

* Provide plenty of fresh water and shade.

* Avoid strenuous exercise during the hottest part of the day.

* Walk your dog early in the morning or late in the evening when it’s cooler.
