Rehoming Two Adult Great Danes – Separate Homes Only
This is one of the hardest posts I have ever had to make.
We are making the incredibly difficult decision to rehome two of our adult Great Danes. This decision is being made solely in their best interest and quality of life.
These dogs will need separate homes.
Ragnar – 4-Year-Old Male (Unaltered)
Ragnar is an extremely affectionate, loyal boy who bonds deeply with his people. He is healthy, fully vetted, and very human-focused. He has never shown aggression toward people — owners or strangers.
However, Ragnar can show assertive, dominant behavior toward other male dogs. He does fine with our other Danes except for one male he attempts to dominate.
Because of this:
• He should not be placed with other male dogs without careful introduction
• He should not live with any other unaltered dogs
• Neutering may help reduce some of his dominance behaviors
• An experienced, confident owner would be ideal
He thrives on human connection and wants nothing more than to be close to his people.
Lilija (“Lili”) – 4-Year-Old Female (Unaltered)
Lili is deeply affectionate and thrives in a one-on-one bond. She is healthy, fully vetted, and incredibly devoted to her humans. She has never hurt a person.
Lili has fear-triggered aggression toward other dogs and must be an only dog. She should not be placed in a home with other dogs, especially other unaltered dogs. Spaying may help hormonally, but her ideal placement is as the sole pet.
She does best in a calm, attentive home where she can be someone’s entire world.
Why We Are Rehoming
We are actively stepping back from breeding and have no intention of incorporating either of these dogs into future plans. We are also not planning to breed any of our dogs in the near future due to life circumstances and health concerns that are making it increasingly difficult for me to meet the needs of every dog at the level they deserve.
Our dogs are not kennel dogs — they are raised and live in our home as pets. We have always been transparent about how we operate, and this decision reflects that same commitment.
Keeping them in a situation where we cannot give them the individualized structure and attention they need would be unfair to them.
This is not about convenience. It is about doing what is right.
We love these dogs more than words can express. Letting them go is heartbreaking, but the right homes will allow them to reach their full potential.
We will be selective and require serious inquiries only.
If you believe you may be the right home for Ragnar or Lili, please message me directly.
