🚨 WE HAVE ONE WEEK. ONE VERY PREGNANT MAMA. AND CURRENTLY… NO FOSTER. 🚨
Last night, we got the message:
“Do you have any whelping fosters for a VERY pregnant mama living at a gas station?”
Without hesitation, we said YES.
Did we already have a foster lined up? Nope.
Do we have a facility? Nope.
Did we know exactly where she was going to go?
Also nope.
Because apparently we are physically incapable of hearing “very pregnant” + “living at a gas station” and responding like rational people. Sometimes you say YES and then you figure it out. ❤️
So our rescue friends in Arkansas hopped in the car and picked her up. Because just like us, they don’t have a facility. And that’s the part of rescue people don’t always see.
They can’t pull a dog off the street without somewhere for them to sleep. They can’t save one from a shelter without somewhere for them to go. They can’t remove one from a bad home and magically produce a safe place afterward.
Every single YES requires a person on the other end.
So right now, WE are the plan.
And we have ONE WEEK to finish it. She’ll arrive to Frederick, MD on 9/13.
This mama is FAR too pregnant. Those babies have their eviction notices and we are officially on THEIR schedule. 😭
She needs to get to Maryland, settle into a safe, clean, quiet home and have her babies somewhere she can finally exhale.
🐾 WE NEED A WHELPING FOSTER IN MARYLAND.
1.5 hours of Brookeville, MD.
And you do NOT have to do this alone.
We provide the supplies you need.
We have experienced team members who will walk you through the entire journey.
We have amazing veterinary partners if mama or her babies need medical care.
We have everything except the one thing we cannot provide: a home.
You provide the space and the love. We’ll help with the rest. She doesn’t need someone with a perfect setup or someone who knows absolutely everything about whelping.
She needs someone willing to look at her and say:
“Bring her here. We’ll figure it out.”
Because that’s exactly what we said when we heard she was sleeping at a gas station.
Someone out there has a quiet space for this girl.
Someone can give her the soft landing she deserves.
Someone can be the reason her babies are born knowing nothing but warmth, safety and love.
We just have to find you.
