Knine Rescue is a non-profit 501(c)3 organization dedicated to animal care and protection.

We are a private organization, run solely on donations. We assist shelters and other rescues (both in our area and out of our area alike), and take on word of mouth tasks. Our goal is to promote responsible animal ownership and to assume those responsibilities when others are unwilling or unable to do so. If you are in the DC, MD, or Northern, VA areas, we can assist you in selecting the right pet

. Please ask us about pet selection and check out the animals currently in our adoption program – www.kninerescue.com. We are also available to assist you with any questions or problems you may have concerning your companion and we encourage you to contact us. Placing animals in new homes is a responsibility we take seriously. Our adoption program includes an application form, contract, home visit and adoption donation, used to fund our rescue operations. All persons interested in adopting a pet from us must read and complete the forms. Forms are found our website – www.kninerescue.com

Our Adoption Goals:
The purpose of our adoption program is to place an animal in a responsible home where it will:

* Receive veterinary care when needed
* Not add to the pet overpopulation problem
* Be controlled so it will not roam free in the neighborhood
* Be happy with its owner and the owner happy with the pet

"We bought a dog that I believe is a Rottweiler mix. He is about 1 1/2 years old, fixed, and he is a very sweet dog. I would truly love to keep him, and this is not something I want to do, but unfortunately my 5-year-old pit mix is not handling another large male dog very well. After trying to make it work, I honestly do not think the situation is going to work out good and I do not want anything to happen to either dog.

The dog is good around people and my kids, seems to be potty trained, hasnt had any accidents and lets me know when he wants to go out, he does have a lot of energy. Unfortunately, I do not know his vaccination history."

🚨 URGENT FOSTER NEEDED FOR OHANA 🚨

Ohana is currently on transport and due to arrive in just TWO HOURS. Unfortunately, her foster experienced a medical emergency this morning and had to go to the ER, meaning Ohana no longer has a place to go when she arrives.

We are urgently seeking an approved foster to step up for this sweet girl. She has already made the long journey to freedom—let’s not let her arrive with nowhere to land.

Ohana has come all this way for a second chance. Let’s make sure she’s greeted with the safe, loving foster home she deserves. ❤️
