In memory of Shaggy who crossed over the Rainbow Bridge October 6, 2026. Our sympathies go out to Christine (aka Chris) and John Nagy. It was an honor to be asked to care for your baby during this difficult time.

SHAGGY (SUGAR BEAR) NAGY

August 12, 2014 – October 6, 2026

Shaggy was one of four kittens that Chris and John bottle fed at four weeks old after mama cat died. He and his brothers were all kept indoors. They could be found sitting in the windowsills chattering at the birds and chipmunks at the bird feeder or chasing each other through the house. Shaggy’s favorite things were plastic balls, kitty treats, and lots of belly rubs.

Shaggy was very affectionate and loved sitting or snuggling with John and Chris. They will miss Shaggy dearly. He was deeply loved by his human mom and dad. John and Chris will meet you again at the Rainbow Bridge.

Forever in our hearts and minds. The Nagy’s.

JUBBA PRICE

October 9, 2026

Jubba was a Chihuahua and he has been with the Price family for over 17 years. The Price family is the only family Jubba has known. His exact date of birth is unknown as he was found with his siblings after he was born. He watched the children grow and then the grandkids.

He had no favorite toy, but he had his blanket that he would sleep under. They will miss his barking at the other dog while at the food bowl. Although he was the smallest, he was the king of the food dish. He would sift through the food until he found the right morsel, then take it to his bed, eat it and then return for another.

Jabba sadly passed the afternoon of October 9, 2026. He has gone to be with their other dog Maggie who passed two years ago. They will be together again. Rest in peace Jubba.

MATTY GUBANYAR

September 29, 2026

Matty was a mini platinum poodle, and he had a number of physical challenges. He was blind, toothless, and old, but his nose still worked so he enjoyed his Joanne’s scentwork at the Kennel Club.

He enjoyed his meet and greet walks on Sundays at the Bridge Street Farmers Market with his pink eared sibling, Mindy in their pink carriage. Matty greeted many friends at the farmers market from Reec, Jen, Gideon, the flower ladies.

There was a mass for Matty at the feast of St. Francis at Hildegard Haus in Fairport Harbor and a celebration of life at Grand River Cellers.

BAXTER “BABBY” MACNAUGHTON

December 31, 2017 – September 27, 2026

It is with deep sadness that Brenda and Brian had to say goodbye for now to their wonderful, playful, and loyal companion Baxter. He lost a courageous fight against cancer that was diagnosed two months ago. He was the most faithful friend, especially to his mom, Brenda. He went with her to work at Jefferson Healthcare Center, the Ashtabula Senior Center, Saybrook Methodist Church, and their “Happy Place by the Lake” at Holiday Camplands. Above all, he loved going on golf cart rides, running and jumping up onto the golf cart and pointing his nose at the gas pedal, impatiently waiting for Mom or Dad to start the cart. He was loved by all, family and friends, young and old, spreading smiles wherever he went, being an unofficial “therapy dog” to those who needed a furry friend.

He loved playing “ball-ball” with his favorite toy - a grey ball, tracking it in the air no matter how high it was thrown and catching it in his mouth before it hit the ground. He also liked to tear into his toy monkey, which now only has three limbs left. Brian and Brenda took Baxter to the Conneaut Hotel to help them with their ghost hunting adventures. With his acute dog senses, he would suddenly stop and stare at something or someone down the hall they couldn’t see.

He was very protective of his mom, running out from behind the couch, growling at the other animals in the house that she tried to talk to. They will miss him so much, leaving a huge void in the lives of all who knew him, but they know that he is walking toward the Rainbow Bridge with his Corgi butt swag. Brenda and Brian will meet you at the bridge, old friend, and they will walk into heaven together.

HULK (AKA HULKY AND BUBBY) PAULIC

December 12, 2012 – September 25, 2026

Hulk was born on December 12, 2012, and along with his brother Thor, was adopted by his forever family on February 10, 2016, at the age of three. Hulk was a true gentle giant. Hulk craved connection with his humans. He had eyes that didn’t just look at you, they searched your soul for love. Hulk never knew an enemy and had even finally come to love his new feline sister, Lulu, that his family had recently adopted. You could oftentimes find Hulk on the back deck enjoying a cigar with his dad. Hulk loved licking the smoke out of the air! If Hulks dad was working on a vehicle, you would always find Hulk laying alongside him, just watching. Many nights, Hulk could be found cuddled up in bed next to his human brother Niko with his head on the spare pillow. Hulk always thought he was a human. In the evening, Hulk loved to give moral support to his human sister Isabella by curling up next to her with his head on her foot while she studied. In fact, this is exactly how Hulk crossed the rainbow bridge, curled up next to his favorite humans with his head rested on his sister’s foot.

Hulk hated winter (he disliked being cold). He loved the summer and many days would find a sunny spot in the yard to bask in the sun. Hulk loved to greet his family when they returned home, even learning how to open the door to let himself out. In the summer you could often find Hulk relaxing out by the garden, watching his mom pick produce and prune plants and guarding her garden from bunnies. Hulk was never an angry boy. He was always happy, bubbly and just a big loveable baby. Hulk’s favorite snack was popcorn, and he loved the occasional trip to King Kone for a pup cup. Hulk looked forward to Sunday mornings when he and his brother Thor would always get an egg omelet.

Hulk will be dearly missed by his mom and dad, Dragan and Jessica; his sister, Isabella; his brother, Niko; his canine life mate and brother, Thor and his new feline sister, Lulu.

Hulks family wishes to thank Dr Rielinger and the staff at Pine Hollow Veterinary Services in Orwell and Ducro Funeral Services for their compassionate care of their sweet boy.

RAZZEL MALLORY
April 2007 – September 4, 2026
He was that one in a million. If you have ever had one you know what Sandra is talking about. He wasn't just a cat. He gushed personality and intelligence, and she knew it when she met him. He was about 12 weeks old and overly friendly. He jumped in Sandra’s truck and started rolling around on her lap and purring loudly and she knew she had to have him. Sandra took him home and placed him at the foot of her bed and he slept with her all night. They shared a bed for the next 19 years.

Raz learned quickly. They spent hour together playing with his toys. If she left him, he would walk through the house carrying his favorite toy screaming at the top of his lungs. Family members would have to come and check to make sure he was okay.

Raz babysat several batches of kittens so mamas could leave their babies and take care of themselves. He pottied them and played with them, always being gentle. He was the head of the other two cats and kept everyone in line. He had one human and it was Sandra. He tolerated others as alternate humans but never connected with them. Raz trusted her completely, she could do anything with him and he never fought her. Sandra’s husband said he would sit next to her while she slept and just stared at her for hours making sure she was okay.

The most amazing thing Raz did was mimic Sandra’s kiss to him on her cheek. She would press her lips to his cheek and slide her lips to his ear. Raz woke her one morning with his lips pressed to her cheek and then slid them across to her ear. He understood what love meant. He couldn't tell her he loved her with words, but he knew that a kiss was her way of saying how much he was loved. He told her in so many ways, and she has so many stories of what an incredible cat he was, but it would be a book. He came to Sandra at a time when her kids were moving out and her husband moved to night shift. He was her company and he was Sandra’s best friend for 19 years. She was so lucky to have him at all, let alone for 19 years. She wouldn't give up a moment in time with him to save herself from the deep pain of missing him that she has now. How lucky she was. Love you always Raz. Until we're together again.

HOPE LONG

May 9, 2009 – September 22, 2026

Hope was the daughter to James and Candy Long. A five-week-old kitten wandered into Jimmy’s shop alone, either lost or abandoned. A fuzzy little girl needing love. Obviously, Jimmy brought her home. Candy and Jimmy instantly fell in love with her. She quickly became the baby of the family because they already had three cats. She did not find her voice until she was a few years old. Jimmy nick named her Squeaky Toy Because her voice came out like a squeak. She had several nick names, Hopey, Hopey D***y or Sissy. She loved to sun bath and sleep. She hated her yearly grooming, but she loved the deep massages once all the fluffy hair was gone.
Five years ago, the last of her older sisters passed away, leaving her alone. A year later, not wanting her to be all alone, they decided to rescue two kittens from Maddox Cat Rescue, Lily and Emery. It was a rough start getting Hope to adjust to two rowdy kittens. But she soon learned to tolerate them, and she became the big sister. Hope slept between mom and dad every night. Mostly next to mom. The past two years, Hope dealt with a lot of illness which unfortunately made them have to make the hardest decision to lay her to rest to end her suffering.
She will be greatly missed and will always be loved. Candy and Jimmy want to give thanks to Edgewood Vet Dr. Wolfe and her staff for all the love and support they have given Hope and them. They pray Hope will get many tuna snacks in Heaven and will be greeted by her older sisters, Tipsy, Kally and Mimi. The Fab 4 is what mom called all of them.

ERNIE IVOL
October 10, 2010 – September 18, 2024
Ernie passed away in his home after an unknown illness on September 18, 2024.

He was the only one of his siblings to hatch on October 10, 2010 in Pittsburgh, PA.

His family thinks he was happiest since moving to Ashtabula in 2022. He loved taking showers, getting treats, ringing his bells, looking at himself in mirrors, and listening to music. His favorite song was “Three Little Birds” by Bob Marley. He enjoyed snuggling in his dad’s beard and giving him kisses. He spent a lot of time in his hut where you would often find him “nesting”. Ernie was originally assumed to be a boy until he laid an egg in 2014. We like to think he was gender fluid and answered to both “he” and “she”. Ernie was so silly and picky depending on the day. Some days he would only eat his green pellets, leaving the yellow ones behind, while other days he would only eat the yellow and leave the green ones behind.

Waking up every morning to his songs and chirps was a blessing and not hearing them anymore is a silent reminder he is no longer with them.

Fly high sweet bird. Thank you for being a huge part of our family.

DALLAS (AKA BABY GIRL) COWELL

May 17, 2017 – September 1, 2026

Dallas never grew out of his puppy stage. She was always full of energy and ready for all attention. If you did not give her attention, she would go nuts. Her favorite toy was a laser pointer. She would chase it all over the place, even the wall. She would bounce her nose off the wall. She was just so full of energy and love. She was also a bed hog.
She loved everybody. She loved her big sister, Elaina Nelson and her big brother, Devin Cowell. She got to meet and bond with her nephew, Kai who is one year old. Dallas would not let mommy cut her nails, but she did let her sister-in-law, Mya Singlton cut them. Dallas is in doggie heaven with her sister Alley Doodle, which she never got to meet, but her family is sure they are having a ball up there together.
