Have you ever seen a pup as cute as Spud? 🥔🐾

Spud is just one year old and is full of that sweet but chaotic puppy energy.

With just a rope, Spud could spend countless hours playing tug of war (and he'll probably win every time, too). When playtime is over, he's not done though. Spud is known for catching a case of the zoomies just when you think he might be winding down. 🏃🐶

With his endless energy and desire to run, Spud would love to live in a rural home with tons of space to have all to himself. Spud seems to do well with dogs, but his excitability might not make him the best match for a house with children: Spud would prefer to be the only baby in the house!

Meet Emily! 🐾

Emily kind of looks like a dog, but we're pretty sure she's actually a kangaroo in disguise. She has seemingly endless energy and excitement for life, and may have set the APL's record for high jumping with the way she hops up and down when she sees her favorite people. 🐕

Emily is a very friendly girl and seems to get along with other dogs. Because of her energy and habit of getting a crazy case of the zoomies, she probably would do best in a home without small children. Emily is full of nothing but love, but she'd do best in a home where all of her people can match her size and energy.

Right now, we're especially in need of:

🐾 Purina One dog food
🐾 Dry cat food (preferably not fish!)
🐾 Wet digestive care cat food
🐾 Dawn dish soap

Thank you to the Ashtabula Municipal Court - recently held a dress-down fundraiser, allowing employees to wear jeans in exchange for a donation. Meet Rex! 🐶🐾

Rex is 11 years young and is known for his friendly, well mannered nature. He walks wonderfully on his leash, loved making friends with other dogs, and is already house and crate trained!

Rex loves everyone and has never met a stranger. He's affectionate and friendly with everyone he meets and just loves to be around people.

If you're looking for a laid back friend, Rex is the dog you've been waiting for.

Inspirational? Yes. Handsome? Oh yeah.

Meet Cheech (Cheerio). Cheech is nine years old and is what some might call a fitness guru. 🐾🏃

When Cheech came to us, he was 79lbs and looking a little bit too much like his namesake... but with some hard work, he's now down to a much healthier 56lbs! Throughout his journey, Cheech has come to appreciate the great outdoors, and is happiest when he's outside with plenty of room to run and play. Are you looking for a new accountability buddy to take hiking with you? Cheech might be your guy. 🌳🍃

Cheech has tons of personality and will certainly keep you entertained with all of his witty quips and chatty nature. You'll never be left guessing what he's thinking about, because he'll be letting you know.

🐶🐾 Dogs aren't low maintenance, but Daphne is as low maintenance as they come.

Meet Daphne, a ten year old lady loved amongst the shelter staff for her sweet, easygoing nature. Daphne is known for being tolerant and calm, and would prefer to be snuggled up on a couch somewhere appreciating a slow retirement instead of always being go, go, go. She might enjoy a short walk now and then, but Daphne is mostly content with being your new nap buddy. 💤 ❤

It was another fantastic week for adoptions at the APL! 🐾🌟

Pictured adoptees were Willow, Biscuit, Goblin, Hex, and Winston!

Amongst the others adopted this week were Jubilee, Juniper, Rumi, Rocky Balboa, Sully, Sassy, and Peppy!
