🚨 Recall Alert - Please read for those who have received compounded medications from Wedgewood Pharmacy to see if your medication is on the affected list🚨

Please reach out to us if your medication is one of the affected lot numbers!

RECALL ALERT: Wedgewood Pharmacy LLC is voluntarily recalling nearly 4,000 compounded veterinary medications within expiry at the provider/customer level due to potential potency issues.

The affected products were shipped between February 18, 2026 and October 6, 2026 to veterinary practices, pharmacies, and other customers nationwide in the U.S. A complete list of affected products (including powders, pastes, oral suspensions, injectables, ophthalmic ointments and solutions, ear solutions and suspensions, topical sprays, and gels), lot numbers, and expiration dates are available at www.wedgewood.com/recall-lookup/. Ashland Veterinary Hospital is having some upgrades! ✨

We are introducing Vello to our practice to assist in making your experience as a pet owner easier!
Some questions you may have:

What is Vello?
Vello is a client engagement platform. This platform helps boost pet owner engagement, education, and satisfaction! It offers great features like automated reminders for visits and care, direct two-way text messaging, easy online scheduling, and follow-up surveys after your appointments. Plus, pet parents get access to an easy-to-use mobile app and client portal! You can easily check or download vaccine records, submit prescription refill requests, view medical histories, explore tailored care tips, and seamlessly manage your pet’s wellness journey!

I downloaded the app and have seen one of my “pets” is called ‘Paperwork’
At AVH, any paperwork that you have filled out, mainly our Informed Consent and Payment Policy, is added to that ‘Paperwork’ pet! It holds no negative impact on your client account, just a way that our Client Service team can keep track of everyone’s forms to make sure we have all forms for each of our clients!

We worked alongside our hospital owner to do our research on the program and make sure that it would mesh well with our practice!

🐾 A quick paws-up reminder! 🐾

Our vet hospital will be closing early today at 11:30 AM. We’ll be back Monday at 7:30 AM, ready to welcome you and your furry friends with open paws! 🐶🐱💙

It’s the Paw-lloween season! 🎃

While this time of year is very exciting for us, there are some things that we, as owners, need to think about while preparing our furry friends for the festivities.

-Do not feed Halloween treats. Candy may contain substances toxic to pets, such as chocolate or Xylitol (a common sugar substitute found in sugar-free candies or gum).
-Make sure your pets have identification (microchip, collar w/ tag, etc.) in case they escape through an open door while you’re distracted with trick-or-treaters.
-If you plan to put a costume on your pet; make sure it fits properly and is comfortable, doesn’t have any choking hazards on it, and does not block the pet’s sight, hearing, breaking, mouth or movement!
-If your pet is wary of strangers, put them in a room away from the front door during trick-or-treating hours, or provide them with a safe hiding place.

With everything above in mind, we want to wish all of our furry friends a happy and safe spooky season! 👻
