🐾 DOG OF THE DAY — MAVERICK 🐾

Sometimes they remind me exactly why I do what I do. ❤️

I hadn’t seen Maverick since April, and when he came through my door, this big sweet boy ran straight into the salon and jumped into my arms.

My heart. 🥹

There are a lot of things that go into grooming a dog, but the relationship I build with them will always be my favorite part.

They remember. They know where they’re comfortable. They know who they trust.

And Maverick? He was just happy to be back. ❤️

Welcome back, buddy. I was pretty darn happy to see you too.

🐾 DOG OF THE DAY — COLA 🐾

This is sweet little Cola, and this was her second visit with me. ❤️

Cola is a rescue, and we don’t know everything about her past. What we do know is that grooming is scary for her right now.

Her first visit, we took it slow. I was able to trim her back nails and groom her from her shoulders back. That was enough.

This visit? Progress. ❤️ She let me bathe her. She let me blow dry her. I got her front nails trimmed and was able to do a few other little things.

Did we finish a full groom? Nope.

And that’s okay.

I’m not going to force Cola through a groom just so I can say I finished her. We’ll do this as many times as she needs. A little bit today. A little more next time. We build trust, we celebrate the wins, and eventually we’ll get there together.

Sometimes the biggest grooming accomplishment isn’t the haircut.

Sometimes it’s a dog learning that she’s safe. ❤️🐾

Good girl, Cola. We’ll see what you’re ready for next time.

🐱✨ CAT OF THE DAY — CHONK! ✨🐱

Meet Chonk. 🧡 And yes, that really is her name. 😂

This sweet girl came to me completely matted. With a coat like this, sometimes shaving feels like the only option.

But I decided to see what I could do.

A whole lot of patience, gentle working, combing, and a little groomer magic later… we saved her coat. ✨

No shave-down for Miss Chonk. Just that beautiful fluffy coat she came in with — minus all those mats. 🥹

And the best part? She laid on my table like an absolute angel while I worked through it. Just look at that face. 🧡

Sometimes grooming isn’t about giving them a haircut. Sometimes it’s about taking the time to see what can be saved.

Nyx came in for her spa day and left looking like the fancy little lady she is — fresh haircut, red bow and, obviously, a pizza bandana. 😂🍕🎀

She is such a sweet girl and was so good for her groom. And I mean… LOOK AT HER. 😍

Everybody meet Daisy, the Great Dane. 💕

She may be approximately the size of a small horse 😂, but Daisy is just a big, sweet girl. She was so good for me and has the absolute sweetest personality.

And THOSE EYES. 🥹 How are you supposed to tell that face no?!

In honor of the holiday, I think we need to conduct some very important scientific research. 😂

🐾 A VERY SPECIAL HAPPY DOG DAY SPA TRANSFORMATION 🐾

Remember this sweet boy who was found wandering on Vernon Road with no collar, no ID and no microchip?

Well… look at him now. 😭❤️

Today I had the privilege of giving this handsome guy a much-needed spa day. Underneath all that dirty, overgrown hair was the SWEETEST face — and apparently Snoopy himself, because tell me those black floppy ears aren’t giving Snoopy. 😂

This is one of the reasons I love being able to help our local shelter dogs. A groom may seem like something small, but for a dog waiting for a home, it can mean comfort, a fresh start, and a chance for someone to finally see the beautiful dog underneath.

He came in looking like a lost dog.

He left looking like somebody’s future best friend. 🥹

Now we just need the right person to see him and say, “There you are. I’ve been looking for you.” ❤️🐾
