Hi everyone, I have not posted in years, but I'm excited to share a woodworking project I have just completed. Rickenbacker Violins donated some unfixable instruments to the volunteer-based Blue Ridge Orchestra, in which I play viola. Us musicians have been able to make them into art that will be auctioned off, proceeds going to the Orchestra so we can keep making music! Here's my creation. I will update with auction info when it is live. Message me if you are interested! - made by carving and staining with wood dye, metalic epoxy inlay birds, gold and silver oil accents, and poly varnish.

Getting the shading right with stain is a bit tricky! But always fun to try new methods!

Today was for fine tuning. The owner of this horse will be sending their own horse hair for the mane and tail. ♥️

Made some more progress today. Can you believe it takes 4 hours just to carve the head?! I always carve the ears last or they will never survive!

I've been able to take advantage of extra time at home and work on a project. Got some pieces cut out. So fortunate that I do not rely on this for income at this time, hope all the artists out there have a way to get through this. ♥️

Completed a long time project today! Special request x-wing fighter rocking ship! (From Star Wars) Based off a one-of-a-kind creation by Steve's Wooden Creations in Australia. This was a lot of fun along with trial and error. Pretty awesome in the end though! Made from cedar, pecan, and turned peices by Gregory Schramek.
