Halloween is right around the corner and it’s getting pretty scary at the clinic…scary cute!! 🐈🦇 Meet Lucifer, prince of cuteness! This puff of orange was found by a Good Samaritan in Madison county with no momma cat to be found. With their diligent care he’s since almost doubled in size(if you can believe it!) and doubled in cuteness! At his visit, we discussed proper kitten care and set up a plan for future vet visits. Thank you Luci and his guardian for bringing some light to the clinic! 🎃

Exciting news! With the help of our wonderful pet parents we were able to raise $300 for Asheville Cat Weirdos! We love working together with ACW to help our kitty friends 🐾

Asheville Cat Weirdos does so much to help cats and their people in our community. We’ve been lucky to have them help some of our clients in times of need. They’ve been getting more requests than they have funding for so for the month of September we are donating $1 from every health pet exam and asking our clients to round up their bill to be donated to ACW if they are able. You can donate directly too at https://ashevillecatweirdos.org/ Let's help as many kitties as we can! 🐈💙🐈‍⬛

Meet BB! (Aka Bolt Bandit) This little guy was once a wild kitty but his future mom couldn’t resist his charm. However, one day BB didn’t finish his food… this was very unusual for the little guy! The next day, his mom brought him to Open Door knowing something was amiss. After completing lab work it was determined that lil BB likely had the potentially deadly disease… FIP. Luckily, treatment was started immediately and BB has made a full recovery! The Open Door team is honored to have helped BB and his family, and we hope to help save more kitties like BB! If your cat may have FIP, contact us to start treatment immediately. 💙🐾💙

It’s September and the crisp air is moving in… but the ticks are still here! Ticks can carry bacterial infections such as Lyme, anaplasmosis, Ehrlichia and more. In Buncombe county, 1 in 12 dogs tested positive for Lyme(and that’s only out of dogs who have been tested; 25,607 tests were ran and 2,012 were positive). These infections can be deadly to your pet and prevention is recommended year-round.

In clinic we offer Bravecto for both cats and dogs for flea/tick prevention and would be happy discuss other options available online. We also have a lyme vaccine. Talk to us about your dog’s lifestyle and we can see if this would be a good fit for you. 💙🐾💙

Exciting news! Dr. Willow Williams is now certified in medical acupuncture, and we're now able to offer this service to our established patients. Acupuncture treatment is thousands of years old and uses fine needles placed in specific spots to achieve certain benefits in both humans and pets. Acupuncture is often used for pain, inflammation, and neurological conditions. We would be happy to chat about if this service may be helpful for your pet. Each session is $100 and often patients will need repeated sessions for benefits. If interested, give us a call/text at 828-417-7768 💙
