NewattheNatureCenter Welcome, Cob, Dodger, Cheddar, and Caramel, who are getting accustomed to their new habitat!

You might notice that these corn snakes have different patterns. The wild pattern refers to those with spots along their backs, while tessera patterning is characterized by stripes. This pattern was developed through intentional breeding under human care.

The Biltmore Championship Asheville is coming soon, and we're getting in on the fun! Get out, discover new local favorites, and play along with our first-ever Mountain Scorecard! The WNC Nature Center is teaming up with amazing local partners to bring you a fun way to discover the area. No golf skills required!

HOW IT WORKS
Pick up a scorecard at any participating business. Collect stamps at each location and claim prizes when you redeem your card at the Nature Center Gift Shop by *September 30*! And when you visit our Gift Shop, say "Hole in One" for 20% off all apparel!

Our September Photo Contest is now live! Vote for your favorite by liking it. In a week, the photographer with the most-liked picture will receive two passes to the WNC Nature Center!

You can enter next month's contest by emailing your photos to [email protected]. Photos must be taken on Nature Center grounds, and people pictured must give permission. Submissions may be used for marketing in the future with or without photo credit. ***PLEASE NOTE: We can't guarantee that multiple photo submissions will be entered.***

Meet W***y! He turned 25 this month, and has lived at the Nature Center since August 2006.

Sicilian donkeys, like W***y, are know for their sweet disposition.

Fun fact: Donkeys were domesticated before horses!

We’re looking for volunteers to get behind the scenes and help prep meals for our animals! If you’re detail-oriented and enjoy working independently, this could be the volunteer gig for you.

Volunteers in this position commit to a weekly shift for at least one year.
