Well, it’s about time… Dog Day Afternoons are back at The Cheshire Arms! 🐾🍻

We’ll be hosting the lovely folks from Rusty’s Legacy on Saturday, March 21st from 1pm–4pm for an afternoon full of adorable adoptable pups looking for their next best mate.

Come by to meet some truly sweet dogs, maybe find your new walking companion, or simply stop in to take a stroll and enjoy some quality time with a few real cuties. It’s a perfect excuse to pop by the pub for a pint, a bite, and a wagging tail or two.

This little girl had a meet & greet and it was LOVE at first site. She's been adopted and she has a groovy Dad, a brother, and a packed social schedule.

Meet Zoey!! She's a beautiful young chocolate lab mix. She grew up at the end of a chain. We expanded her horizons and now she's a master of the yard! Zoey is a lover of her folks & eager adventure dog. She has great footwork with the tennis ball. She ready for whatever you're into.

Zoey would do great in a home with a dog friend. She would love some kids age 5+, as she can really land a smooch when she's excited. She had not been cat tested.

Zoey is fully vetted, spayed, hw negative, current on shots including rabies. She microchipped and looking for her furever family.

The little black & white heeler mix came from this abundant batch of puppies. Why is she at a rehab Foster with 80lb dogs? Because already in her short little life she has known fear, hunger, trauma. Thanks to rescue and their dedication to her, she will have all the support she needs to grow beyond that. She's well on her way to being all-star.

Yesterday, WE PAID to spay the 2 female dogs that recently gave birth to 13 Catahoula mix puppies we rescued a few weeks ago. The spay/neuter fee at the ASPCA in Asheville is $65! For comparison, that's roughly the equivalent to the cost of a CARTON OF CI******ES. 🚬
On the other hand, the cost of caring for 13 puppies totals around $200.00 per pup, or $2600!!! which includes:
$100 for vaccines
$65 for spay/neuter
$20 for a microchip
$60 for flea/tick medication and dewormer
Not to mention the cost of food OR the time, effort, volunteers and staff it takes to place 13 puppies into caring homes. 🐾❤ More than $2600 and countless hours rescuing 13 puppies could have been spared for less than the price of a couple of cartons of ci******es. Allowing your dog to produce multiple litters of puppies and leaving the responsibility to others is NOT the ANSWER. Please be a responsible pet owner. It's not hard to do.
