Blue Cross Acres Draft Horse Rescue During WWI 8 million horses, mules and donkeys died...mostly because of the conditions. It was called the “Blue Cross Fund”. Our farm is named after that fund.

After the war, a fund was organized to take care of the returning animals.

We lost our first rescue boy, Ralphie, on Christmas Day. He was our heart horse, our goodest boy…our love. Run free in heaven buddy…we’ll see you on the other side. We love you with all of our hearts….💔
