Halo's Acres Farm Rescue & Sanctuary Halo's Acres is an animal rescue for farm animals (more specifically, goats & horses) that is located in Ash Flat, Arkansas.

A 501(c)(3) nonprofit providing a safe haven for horses in need - including seniors, special-needs horses, owner surrenders, and auction or kill pen rescues - plus a few goats, donkeys, and barn cats who call Halo’s Acres their home🧡🐴🐐🫏🐱 We strive to save goats and horses from poor situations - whether they have a disease that is hard to manage, are in a kill pen, skinny, sick, etc - they are welc

ome in our rescue. Those animals saved that are able to be rehabilitated and rehomed, will be, but there is also space in our rescue for a sanctuary herd. We have travelled to surrounding states for rescues, as well as rescued those in our town. These animals deserve a second chance. We’ve almost made it through a severe cold snap and snowstorm - one they said would be a storm to remember (not in a good way🥶) - and I’m happy to say everyone is safe, warm, and well ♥️

This type of weather means extra hay, extra blankets, heated water buckets, dripping water spickets, and some freezing fingers busting ice 🧊 if you know, you know…😅

These are the moments most people don’t see, but they matter every single day. We are out here every day making sure these guys have everything they need, no matter the weather!

P.S. the ones without blankets will *not* let me blanket them - but I’ve checked on them extra, and they’re not shivering or cold 🙏🏼

We are on the way to get her teeth floated. She has a hard time eating hay properly so we are going to go help her feel much better and hopefully this will help her gain more weight too

The new girl is doing great! She is very sweet and a little ornery for an old lady😂❤️ she plays hard to catch for a min or two then she just stands still for me to catch her. She was a little jumpy the first day but she seems to have settled in a little bit!

I am quarantining her for a couple weeks because she was living at the local sale barn, so who knows what she was exposed to.

After quarantine, I will immediately be taking her to get her teeth floated! She has a really tough time eating and spits out lots of half chewed hay - big sign she can’t eat properly. I think that will help her gain weight immensely! She has a big appetite, but can’t get enough loose hay down to help her gain weight. For now, she’ll enjoy some soaked pellets and cubes and she can eat that just fine!

P.S. please excuse the fly sheet that’s too big around her neck😅 it’s the end of the season and the only one I had on hand

They’re always skinnier in person than the pictures!😩 I can tell she’s having a hard time eating so getting her teeth floated will be first thing on the list!

We’ve been blessed to have Cody for about a year now and I wanted to show how far he’s come!!! There’s a 25 y/o mare close to me that is for sale as a broodmare or riding mare for $800. Poor girl is skinnnyyyyy and just needs a good retirement home!
