ADOPTED! Buddy2 was surrendered to a local shelter after only a short time in his previous home due to having too much energy. When we heard about this young, active boy, AGA welcomed him to give him the fresh start he deserved.
Buddy2 is a one-year-old red Golden Retriever who is still a puppy at heart. With a constantly wagging tail, he greeted his foster family with endless enthusiasm. He spent his first few days running laps in their large fenced backyard, even heading out for late night zoomies and fetch. He logged more than 20K steps in a single day on his Fi collar. His favorite things quickly became tennis balls and his snuggle puppy toy, which rarely left his side.
As the days went on, his foster family saw that underneath all that energy was a true sweetheart. Buddy2 responded beautifully to positive reinforcement, proved to be a quick learner, and showed that what he really wanted most was to be near his people. He even had a playdate with another AGA volunteer’s dog and passed with flying colors, happily romping and making a new friend.
That's when his forever family came along. They are longtime rescuers and a foster family (who have fostered more than 25 dogs), so they have experienced a wide range of personalities and temperaments. They were ready to find a family dog to love for many years to come, and Buddy2 felt like the perfect match.
Now renamed Tex, short for Texas, he will enjoy an active home with plenty of playtime, structure, and love. With experienced adopters who understand puppy energy and are committed to continuing his training, Tex has found exactly what he needed: a family who sees his big personality and even bigger heart. 💛 Congratulations and thank you to everyone who helped Buddy2 find his people!
