**** Another update ****
WE ARE NOT ANTI-VAXXERS! WE ALWAYS DO AND WILL CONTINUE TO RECEIVE VACCINATIONS ON SCHEDULE AND ON TIME FOR ALL OF OUR PUPPIES ! THIS IS NOT A TACTIC TO SCARE YOU, THIS IS NOT TELLING YOU THAT THE CAUSE IS EXACTLY FROM THE VACCINATION. THAT IS ALL UNKNOWN. THIS IS SIMPLY A FACEBOOK POST SHOWING YOU A "SITUATION". WE DO NOT CLAIM TO HAVE ALL OF THE KNOWLEDGE ON THIS MATTER. THIS IS WHY WE HAVE GONE TO THE VETERINARIAN BEFORE DURING AND AFTER THIS SITUATION!
πΎ SPECIAL HOME NEEDED FOR A VERY SPECIAL LITTLE PUG πΎ
Updating With this snippet of information since so many people want to comment from The Facebook veterinary school of medicine. π ...

For those saying neurologic injury following vaccination is βimpossible,β veterinary medicine says otherwise. Merck Veterinary Manual specifically recognizes that injections in or near peripheral nerves can cause nerve injury and paralysis, and it also recognizes vaccination as a suspected trigger for acute immune-mediated polyradiculoneuritis in dogs. There is even a peer-reviewed veterinary case report of a puppy developing neurologic weakness following vaccination. None of this proves exactly what happened to THIS puppy β and we have never claimed that it does. It establishes that an injection-associated or post-vaccination neurologic complication is medically possible. That is why his actual veterinarians are investigating the cause rather than diagnosing him from a Facebook comment section. π€π₯
π©» For perhaps a real radiologist, x-rays are in the comments!! π©» As you can see here ( or according to my vet) everything looks normal!!
This handsome little boy was born happy, healthy, and completely normal. Shortly after receiving a routine vaccination, he suddenly developed a serious problem affecting both of his front limbs. We cannot say with certainty what caused it, but the change occurred following the vaccination and has left him with a permanent-looking disability in his front legs.
We immediately took him to the veterinarian, where X-rays were performed. At this point, the findings do not appear to show a straightforward orthopedic problem. He was also given a 7-day course of prednisone in hopes that inflammation might be contributing, but unfortunately we have not seen improvement.
We were told that euthanasia may ultimately be the most practical option if his condition cannot be corrected.
But when you look at this little boy, euthanasia simply doesn't feel like the first answer we want to accept. β€οΈ
Because HE does not know he is disabled.
He runs.
He plays.
He wrestles.
He follows you around.
He loves attention.
He is happy, affectionate, playful, and full of life.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with his personality, his spirit, or his ability to love. He has simply learned how to navigate the world a little differently.
He is an AKC-registered Pug from champion bloodlines, but none of that matters nearly as much as the fact that he is an incredibly sweet little puppy who deserves the opportunity to live a happy life.
We are looking for a qualified, compassionate home willing to take over his care, accommodate his disability, and give him a safe place to grow up. Someone with special-needs animal experience would be wonderful, but more than anything, we need someone committed to him for life and willing to work with their veterinarian regarding any future care he may need.
We have his X-rays and veterinary information available for serious adopters.
There is no adoption fee. He will be placed completely free of charge with the right home. This is not about money. This is about finding the person who looks at him and sees everything he can do instead of everything he can't. π₯Ήβ€οΈ
If you feel like you may be that person β or you know someone experienced with special-needs dogs who might be able to help β please reach out to us.
And even if you can't take him, please share his story. His perfect home may be one share away. πΎβ€οΈ
