Love Dogs Camp offers dog daycare, boarding, training, and grooming designed for optimal health and wellbeing. Dogs enjoy nature and are never placed in cages. It is located on 5 acres in San Luis Obispo County, CA.

At Love Dogs Camp, the work that brings our team the greatest joy is transforming dogs through our AKPUR socialization method. Because we are cage free, we are unable to accept aggressive dogs, but the AKPUR method we developed and pioneered about 5 years ago has been the key to successfully transforming dogs who have developed mild to severe anxiety based upon early trauma and abandonment issues.

Ursula is a perfect example - when Ursula’s mom brought Ursula to our camp, her anxiety about being around new people was so extreme we designed a program for Ursula that would not overwhelm her and would allow her to gradually and slowly accept her new daycare environment. When she first arrived she would not allow us to touch her or interact with her in a meaningful way.

Today we are celebrating the fact that she ran into camp excited to be here, socializes with all the daycare dogs, allowed our staff to gently clean her entire body before pick up, and even leaned over and kissed our staff!
While these may seem like small accomplishments for some dogs, for Ursula these were huge breakthroughs - the kind we live for at Love Dogs Camp❤️💕
