Big things are happening at Midwest Aquatics.
Today we met with Jefferson County Animal Control to discuss a potential partnership focused on improving care and placement options for surrendered, stray, and rescued aquatic animals, amphibians, and reptiles. After touring, discussing resources, and exploring future possibilities, they have agreed that once approved by management, Midwest Aquatics will assist with housing and rehabilitation efforts for these animals.
This is a huge step not only for us, but for the exotic and aquatic animal community as a whole. Many shelters simply do not have the specialized setups, equipment, or species-specific knowledge needed for fish, reptiles, and amphibians. Our goal is to help fill that gap and give these animals a better chance at proper care and rehoming.
We’re incredibly honored that local organizations are recognizing the quality of care, knowledge, and dedication we put into this every single day. Between our recent partnerships and outreach efforts, Midwest Aquatics is continuing to grow into something much bigger than just a fish store — we are building a true community resource for aquatic and exotic animal care in Missouri.
Thank you to everyone who continues to support us, shop with us, leave reviews, share our posts, and believe in what we’re building. Every bit of support helps make opportunities like this possible.
