Hey — I’m working on something new specifically for people caring for disabled dogs.

It’s not training or medical — it’s a simple daily system to help reduce overwhelm and make it clearer what actually matters each day.

I’m in early stages and looking for a small number of people to try it and give feedback.

EARLY ACCESS IS FREE WHILE WE BUILT THIS WITH A SMALL GROUP OF CAREGIVERS. But we do need people who currently have dogs who are struggling with their mobility, anywhere from early stages to fully immobile.

I’ve been caring for our disabled dog for the past couple years, and something I didn’t expect was how hard the day-to-day decisions would be.

Not the big medical stuff…
Just things like:

- Am I doing enough today?
- Is this normal or something I should worry about?
- What actually matters vs what can wait?

Some days I have time and energy.
Other days… I don’t. And that part is really hard.

I started sketching out a simple system to help with that — something that adjusts based on real life (busy days, travel, overwhelm), not just “best case” care.

It would:

- show what matters most today
- help notice changes early
- adjust expectations based on how much time you actually have

I mocked up a few screens of what it could look like (attached).

A new peer reviewed study suggests popular flea and tick pills given to millions of dogs and cats may be quietly impacting the environment. Isoxazoline drugs widely prescribed to protect pets are excreted in f***s, urine, and shed hair, creating potential exposure pathways for non target wildlife. The European Medicines Agency has previously warned these compounds could contaminate ecosystems. Common isoxazolines include afoxolaner (NexGard), fluralaner (Bravecto), sarolaner (Simparica), lotilaner (Credelio), and the combination in Simparica Trio, along with products like Bravecto Plus and NexGard Spectra.

Researchers say dung feeding insects such as flies, dung beetles, and some butterflies may be especially vulnerable. These species are essential for waste breakdown, nutrient cycling, soil health, and natural pest control. In a French study, treated dogs and cats still had detectable isoxazoline residues in f***s months later, and modeling suggested routine use could lead to meaningful environmental exposure.

Separate research links other flea and tick chemicals, including imidacloprid and fipronil, to broader wildlife risks, from bees to songbird chicks exposed via contaminated pet fur. The concern is not a single dose, but the potential cumulative ripple effects of routine use across ecosystems.

Food is one of the most powerful tools we have to support vitality, resilience, and long-term health. Most of us think carefully about what we put in our pets’ bowls, and those decisions truly make a difference.
A recent study looking at commercial dog and cat foods found that nearly 77% of those they tested contained detectable levels of mycotoxins or pesticide residues. Dry foods had the highest levels, likely because grain ingredients are more prone to mold growth and glyphosate exposure during storage and processing.
While severe contamination can cause obvious illness, what concerns me most is long-term, low-level exposure. Over time, these hidden stressors can influence inflammation, detox pathways, and gut health, even when no clear symptoms are present.

The other potential breed of the stray in Oakland, TN is the Romanian Bucovina Shepherd Dog, a truly new breed for me. This is a fairly modern breed. They can also weigh up to 200 pounds.

New Livestock Guardian Dog breed for me. I've known of them but never read much about them. Pyrenean Mastiff. There's a dog wandering around the Oakland, TN area that I believe is a Pyrenean Mastiff. It's a rare Spanish breed so it's odd to see one wandering around in West Tennessee.

The breed is hundreds of years old and can weigh as much as 200 pounds.

We're dealing with some digestive issues (diahrea) with Elijah today. We give him this probiotic daily which normally keeps everything working perfectly, highly recommended! Tonight we're giving him some low sodium chicken broth and dehydrated, pulverized green banana peel. Green bananas are also good for digestive issues as they're high in starch and low in sugar (ripe bananas are high in sugar). I use only positive, force-free dog training. Puppy training & socializaton. Obedience training. I also provide dog owners with guidance and ideas on how to continually enhance their dogs lives through the use of appropriate games and toys.
