It was a sad night for those of us in management last night as we received a one star review. A one star review is a damaging hit to google ratings, as many of you know, rankings is how many small businesses thrive or bust.
We can understand a one star review for p*e smells, p**p not being picked up, ignoring a pup, unfriendly staff, unprofessional staff, but for being who you are or support? Our inclusion for the gay community in our lobby with gay pride fun banners, streamers, was offensive to a pet parent and quickly decided they would not be returning to our establishment.
I quickly replied stating that is fine with us. We are proud to have many loyal, and kind, and unconditional acceptance from our many clients who bring their dogs to us.
Our team is diverse, and we accept everyone who works for us, and we are so proud to be a safe place for people to work and thrive, no matter who they are.
Gayla and I consider ourselves to be Christians, but, not perfect Christians, by any means! I do believe with all my heart that we walk the walk that Jesus did. We help our neighbors, we welcome those that society do not want, and we do our best to always do the right thing for those around us.
So, if you do not want your dog to go to a gay friendly establishment that's fine, that's your choice. Disparaging the company in public for being inclusive is not.
We will continue to be inclusive. There is too much strife right now. And the one that suffers the most in this is the sweet precious dog.
