TPLO UPDATE: THESE TWO ARE DOING SO GOOD. 🥹🐾

Halo and Cutlet both recently had TPLO surgery, and we’re SO happy to report that they’re recovering beautifully. ❤️

From cone life 😵‍💫 to little supervised walks around the neighborhood, these two are taking their recovery one tiny step at a time.

Still lots of rest, rehab, and patience ahead… but look at those faces. 🥹

Keep cheering for Halo + Cutlet! They’re on the mend. 🐾❤️

Attention, attention! We need a foster!!!
Who needs some puppy cuddles and lives in DFW? Popcorn and Coke would love to come over, snuggle up, and learn to love the good life in a foster home!! These deaf blind, 6-8 week old double merle Aussies need a soft place to land until they’re ready for adoption.
Apply at the link in our bio!

Not gonna dress this one up too much. Rescue is expensive. Like… really expensive.
For the last 14 weeks, we’ve averaged about $5,000 A WEEK in vetting. (However, this is also like 8-12 dogs typically receiving vetting).

That’s a whole lot of spays, neuters, microchips, fecals, heartworm tests, vaccines, dentals, medications, and general “oh cool, this dog needs that too” moments (heartworm treatments, ikyk). 😂
And sometimes that $5K week includes a major surgery or an ER visit. Because apparently the universe likes to keep things interesting.

This week alone, 8 dogs have already been to the vet to get their basic vetting done. And today, these three little double merle nuggets are getting their first round of shots. 🥹

We’re incredibly grateful for every person who has helped us get here. Especially with our Smith County dogs. We knew they were going to need A LOT of resources, and y’all showed up for them in a huge way. ❤️

But rescue doesn’t stop when one crisis is over.
There is ALWAYS:
-another dog sitting in a shelter because their family “doesn’t have time anymore” now that school is back.
-another hoarding case coming. There’s always another hoarding case.
- another puppy mill that needs to be shut down. And as difficult as those cases are, we want more of them. These dogs often have no idea what kindness or love are supposed to feel like. They don’t know how to trust people, live in a home, or simply be a dog. Their rehabilitation can take months, sometimes longer, and it requires an incredible amount of patience, time, and resources. They absolutely are not cheap. But because every puppy mill that closes means more shelter dogs have a chance.

It means fewer people buying puppies from pet stores only to discover a week later that their new puppy has parvo and they can’t afford the treatment.

It means fewer dogs ending up in shelters because someone made a bad decision at the point of purchase.

So… here we are.
8 dogs vetted this week. 3 more getting started today. And more dogs waiting for us.
If you have a few dollars to spare, we could really use them right now. $5. $10. $25. Whatever you can swing.

Because the tide of rescue funds goes up and down depending on the week, the dogs, the emergencies, the full moon… 😂

And right now, we could use a little tide coming our way. ❤️

Donate if you can. Share if you can’t. Both help more than you know.
Thank you for keeping us going, friends. Seriously. 🐾❤️

Meet George. ❤️ 12 years young, retired, and absolutely covered in powdered sugar.
Not actual powdered sugar. Just 12 years worth of kisses. 😭

George spent his first 12 years as a breeding dog. When his breeder passed away, he was one of eight Corgis welcomed into NTASR. Now? He's making up for lost time.
At 32 pounds, George is built a little more like a loaf than a race car, and he's THRIVING in retirement.

He loves following his people around, claiming the comfiest couch spot, accepting pets, and strolling through the garden before deciding it's time for a little siesta. 🌿😴 Just enjoying the morning. Or afternoon. Taking it easy.

He's the sweetest, softest little guy. Great with dogs, great with kids, house trained, potty trained, and basically the perfect Corgi gentleman.

George isn't looking for adventure. He's waited 12 years for this retirement. We think he deserves the good stuff. 🤍

Okay but seriously… we need fosters. 🥹🐾

DFW, we need you.

We’re looking for foster homes + temporary fosters right now, especially for dogs who need a place to land while their families are traveling.
You don’t have to foster forever.
You don’t need to be a dog expert.
You just need a safe space, some patience, and a willingness to fall a little bit in love. 🤍

But watching a dog walk into their forever home healthier, happier, and SO loved?
Yeah. That part is pretty damn special.

If you’ve been thinking about fostering, this is your sign.
👉 Apply to foster. ntxaussierescue.org/foster
👉 Share this with your dog-obsessed friend.
👉 Tag someone who has “I would foster but…” in their vocabulary.

Your future foster is out there. 🐶

Marsalis & Beckley are 12-pound (and growing) bundles of puppy chaos, Corgi mix butts, big personalities, and even bigger potential. 😂🐾

Marsalis is the sunshine boy: goofy, cuddly (HE'S SO FLUFFY!), playful, and always ready to be your new best friend. 🥹

Beckley? She’s the Head of Security. 12 pounds of confidence, curiosity, squirrel surveillance, and VERY important opinions. 😂 Her adorable red wire coat is just to die for, really matches her personality too.

Both are crate trained, good with other dogs, food motivated, and ready for families who are excited to help them grow into amazing adult dogs.

And lucky for you… they’ll both be at Puppies & Pilates tomorrow! 🧘‍♀️🐶

Can’t make Pilates? No worries! Swing by Backyard Dallas after 11 AM to meet the puppies, say hi, donate, or just get some puppy time. 🧡

Come meet your new best friend!
