Texas Old English Sheepdog Rescue, Inc.

Texas Old English Sheepdog Rescue, Inc. TxOESR, Inc. is a group of volunteers who give their time and love to the rescued Sheepdogs who come into our program.

We receive Old English Sheepdogs from both owner surrenders and shelters. Additionally, we coordinate with other rescue organizations throughout the United States, it‘s territories, Canada, and Mexico. We offer education and support to all who care for and love this breed. Many of our rescue Sheepdogs are in good health, but for whatever reason, need to find new homes. Occasionally, we receive a

dog in need of medical attention who we nurse back to health prior to placement. While the fee for adoption usually offsets any expenses that we may encounter with our dogs, this is not always the case. We rely on membership dues, donations, grants, and fund raisers to provide funding for these expenses. After an evaluation period in a foster home, adopted Sheepdogs arrive at their new, forever adoptive home with the following: medical history, microchip, vaccinations, groomed, spayed/neutered, heartworm negative (or treatment provided), parasite free and housebroken. It is our goal to have happy, healthy sheepdogs leaving our program with a brighter future for tomorrow. The credibility of an organization comes from years of stability which is built on a solid foundation of integrity and the reputation of the people who serve it.

UPDATE: DAISY & ZIGGY WILL BE STAYING WITH A FAMILY MEMBER!

🐾❤️ DAISY & ZIGGY — TWO BEST FRIENDS LOOKING FOR ONE FOREVER HOME ❤️🐾

Look closely at their picture. This is what a true bond looks like. ❤️

Daisy and Ziggy are inseparable. They lean on each other, comfort each other, and simply feel safer together. They must be adopted as a pair.

🐶 Daisy is a beautiful 3-year-old, 55-pound Old English Sheepdog who is sweet, gentle, and a little shy. New people and unfamiliar situations can make her nervous, but having Ziggy by her side makes all the difference. He is her security blanket—and even grooming is easier when her best friend is nearby.

Once Daisy has a little time to get comfortable, she warms up and shows what a sweet girl she really is. She is good on leash, rides well in the car, and knows sit, down, stay, heel, and wait.

🐶 Ziggy is a lovable 6-year-old, 110-pound OES with a heart as big as his size! He is sweet, friendly, easygoing, and low-energy. Ziggy loves people, loves to snuggle, and loves carrying his toys around. He walks beautifully on leash and doesn't tend to wander off.

He knows sit, down, back, wait, and heel—although he thinks “stay” and “come” are sometimes optional! 😄

Ziggy does like to chase cats, so a cat-free home is preferred.

🏡 Together, Daisy and Ziggy are something special.

Both are house-trained, and their personalities complement each other beautifully. Ziggy's calm confidence helps Daisy feel secure, while Daisy is clearly devoted to her best friend.

📍 They are currently in Boulder, Colorado. Rocky Mountain OES Rescue is working with New England Old English Sheepdog Rescue (NEOESR) to find their perfect home.

🚐 Distance does not have to be a barrier! NEOESR will help arrange transportation to the East Coast for the right adoptive family.

Could you be the person who gives Daisy and Ziggy their happily-ever-after? ❤️

TXOESR Needs: Assistance for Training, Boarding & Medical Needs

This year’s NTXGD goal for TXOESR is $5,000 to support these needs.

When an Old English Sheepdog comes into rescue, the journey to a forever home can sometimes require more than just love. Some of our OES rescues need additional socialization, training, or behavioral support after being surrendered by their families or coming to us as strays. Others arrive needing immediate veterinary care, grooming, or ongoing medical attention.

At the same time, a shortage of available foster homes has increased our need for temporary boarding, while the rising cost of veterinary care has placed additional financial pressure on our rescue.

Your donation can make a tremendous difference. Your support helps TXOESR provide the training, boarding, medical care, and other services these dogs need to heal, thrive, and ultimately find loving forever homes.

Every donation—large or small—helps us give an OES a second chance.

TXOESR looking for emergency assistance in rescuing stray OES west of Waco, TX!!!!

We are looking to connect volunteers to assist Texas OES Rescue with saving 3 strays abandoned in the Gatesville, TX (west of the Waco area). Originally there appeared to be 6 strays but TXOESR is being told there are now 3 dogs left to be rescued. You may have seen this also from other Facebook posts. TXOESR is not sure if or when all of these pups have been rescued.

TXOESR has no information on these OES strays but we’re looking for multiple folks to try and retrieve and home these dogs for the immediate future to make sure they are taken care of.

If you are near Waco, TX and can assist and save a rescue pup, please notify us by contacting TXOESR at email address:

[email protected]

---- please copy [email protected] also.

Unfortunately, local authorities declined to aid in holding these pups. TXOESR is not aware of the demeanor or health of these strays, so just be aware and be careful. We want you and the pups safe is all we’re looking for.

If you can help, please let us know.

Thanks….TXOESR

Look who is adopted….

Dudley!!

In March 2026, Dudley was found as a stray in Amarillo, TX. Marla Evans contacted TXOESR to see if we could help with this rescue and she volunteered to foster in the short-term. After his 3-day-hold at the Amarillo Shelter, the Evans family (Marla, Mike, Dixie and Duncan – two beardies) provided a safe place, needed care and lots of love for this wonderful guy. With the terrible condition Dudley was in (both health and groom), his personality was easy-going, loving and gentle. After a couple of weeks of decompressing and healing, Marla transported Dudley to a new foster family in Dallas, TX.

In Dallas, Joanna Shuckman’s family welcomed Dudley to his new foster home in early April and TXOESR was eventually able to get a full workup on Dudley’s health issues. And with a lot of vet visits, love, care, medications, more love, and more care – Dudley has now become such a wonderful and happy OES rescue.

In early May, TXOESR received an adoption application for an OES from the Beam family located in Boone, NC. They had recently lost a German Sheperd family member and were looking for a friend for their OES, Daisy. They were very interested in Dudley after seeing pictures and videos of him with the two foster families and their pets.

So, Heather, Kenneth and Daisy set up for the long haul for a meet-and-greet to hopefully adopt OES Dudley.

The meet-and-greet went better than expected for ALL!! Heather & Kenneth fell in love immediately and Daisy and Dudley developed a fondness for each other soon after. This is why we do “rescue”!

Dudley is now in the Tar Heel State – loving life and loving being with his new family – the Beams! And from what we’re told, the Beam family could not be happier having Dudley as a new member!!

A BIG THANK YOU! to two wonderful fosters – Marla and Joanna – who worked so hard to give Dudley the love and care he needed and deserved! Thank you from Dudley and TXOESR!

Best Wishes…
TXOESR
