It's getting chilly! 🥶Cold weather can affect your pet's joints, skin, activity, and routines. Here are a few tips to prepare your pet for wintertime:
- Provide a warm and cozy space off of the floor and away from drafts
- Sweaters or jackets are great for short-haired, small or senior pets
- Limit your pet's time outside in the extreme cold
- Some pets' nutrition needs might change during the winter. Talk to your vet if you think this might be the case.

We are thrilled to welcome Dr. Rayne Johnson to the team!✨

Dr. Rayne Johnson grew up in New Hill, North Carolina. After attending college at North Carolina State University, and then traveling for a few years, she decided to pursue her veterinary degree at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine and graduate in 2012. After graduation, Dr. Johnson went on to complete a Rotating Internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Friendship Hospital for Animals in Washington, D.C. After completing her internship, she found her home at CityPaws Animal Hospital and loved her time in the bustling city.

In February 2018, Dr. Johnson made the decision to move to Hawaii to seek outdoor adventures and warm weather. After spending 7 years at VCA Family and Oahu Veterinary Specialty Center, Dr. Johnson is coming back home to North Carolina to be closer to family and the mountains. Within veterinary medicine, Dr. Johnson enjoys working with owners and clients to provide a low-stress environment, geriatric care, long-term medical care, and dentistry.

Outside of work, Dr. Johnson spends her time hiking, is dedicated to hot yoga, reading fiction, and spending time with and also training her three cats: Jenks, Pixie, and Trent.

We are so excited to see Dr. Johnson take care of you and your pets! Book your appointment with her HERE: https://bit.ly/3HDalAp
