🚨 Dental Month is almost here! 🚨
🦷A HEALTHY SMILE = A HEALTHIER PET!🦷

Did you know that dental disease is one of the most common health problems we see in dogs and cats?

Plaque and tartar don’t just affect your pet’s teeth—they can lead to **pain, infection, bad breath, tooth loss, and inflammation that can impact overall health.**

🚨 **Signs of dental disease may include:**
• Bad breath
• Yellow or brown tartar buildup
• Red, swollen, or bleeding gums
• Difficulty chewing or dropping food
• Decreased appetite
• Loose or missing teeth
• Pawing at the mouth

And remember: **pets are experts at hiding pain!** Even if your dog or cat is still eating normally, dental disease may already be causing discomfort.

🪥 **Regular dental examinations, professional cleanings, dental X-rays, and at-home dental care are all important pieces of maintaining your pet’s oral health.**

At **Archer Animal Hospital**, we believe preventative dental care is an important part of helping your pet live a longer, healthier, happier life. ❤️

**Healthy teeth. Healthy gums. Healthier pets.**

🦷🐾 Give Your Pet Something to Smile About! 🐾🦷
Did you know that daily dental care is one of the best things you can do for your pet’s overall health?
At Archer Animal Hospital, we love recommending OraVet® Dental Hygiene Chews as part of a complete at-home dental routine! 🐶✨
🦷 Helps reduce plaque and tartar buildup
🦷 Helps fight bad breath
🦷 Contains an ingredient that helps prevent bacteria from attaching to the tooth surface
🦷 A tasty treat that many dogs look forward to!
While dental chews are a great addition to your pet’s routine, they work best alongside regular veterinary dental exams, professional cleanings when recommended, and at-home brushing.
✨ Healthy mouth = healthier, happier pet! ✨
Ask our Archer Animal Hospital team if OraVet® chews are a good fit for your pup!

🐾 Archer Animal Hospital Patient Spotlight🩺❤️
(‼️some photos may be a little graphic‼️)

Meet sweet Lola (and Lola’s unwanted friend), one of our beloved senior canine patients, who underwent surgery a few months back to remove a large skin growth.
Using advanced electrocautery (cautery) technology, our Dr. Bush and her surgical team were able to precisely remove the mass while minimizing bleeding and reducing tissue trauma. Because of the size and location of the growth, some of Lola’s surgical site had to heal by secondary intention—a process where the wound heals naturally from the inside out.
To support healthy healing, medical-grade Manuka honey was used. This is a natural therapy known for its antimicrobial properties and ability to promote healthy tissue regeneration.
Lola recovered beautifully, and we’re so proud to be able to provide advanced surgical techniques and individualized wound care that help our patients heal comfortably and safely.
Here’s to many more happy, comfortable days ahead, Lola! 💙🐶
📍 At Archer Animal Hospital, we’re committed to combining advanced medicine with compassionate care for pets of every age.

P.S. Lola’s mom makes the best fudge. Check her out at the Chiefland farmers market - “Fun with fudge” 🤩 Fun with Fudge

💉 **Vaccines Save Lives—And Prevention Is Always Better Than Treatment.** 🐾

Vaccinations are one of the simplest and most effective ways to protect your pet from serious, and often life-threatening, diseases.

Whether your furry friend is a playful puppy, curious kitten, or a seasoned senior, staying up to date on vaccines helps protect them from illnesses such as rabies, parvovirus, distemper, feline leukemia, and more. Vaccines don’t just safeguard your pet—they also help protect other animals in our community.

Every pet is unique, which is why we create personalized vaccine recommendations based on your pet’s age, lifestyle, health, and risk factors.

✔️ Prevent serious diseases
✔️ Protect your family and community
✔️ Save on costly treatments down the road
✔️ Give your pet the healthiest life possible

Not sure if your pet is due for vaccines? Give Archer Animal Hospital a call—we’re happy to help keep your best friend protected every step of the way. ❤️🐶🐱
