Quick training update!

I still have some older footage from the past couple of weeks that I need to share, but I wanted to post a quick update from today’s session.

When we first started, she didn’t really understand how to yield to leash pressure. We spent time building that foundation and helping her understand how to respond instead of fighting against it.

Today, she was able to work on a martingale collar and successfully respond to light leash pressure. That may seem like a small step, but considering where she started, it’s a meaningful improvement and shows that she’s beginning to understand the concept.

Progress isn’t always flashy. Sometimes it’s simply seeing a dog understand something today that they didn’t understand a few weeks ago.

First time with the vacuum around Margot besides sweeping, and she did really well.

I vacuumed right next to her crate, and she stayed calm with no barking, lunging, or big reaction toward it. I’ll test her later outside the crate and see how she does.

This has been in the works for a little while, and I’m excited to finally share that I’ve started fostering through Emily’s Legacy Rescue. 🐾

Meet Margot — my first foster dog. She’s a 2yr old Pointer/Heeler mix.

This first week has been focused on helping her settle in, building structure, crate training, and safely introducing her into my home.

I’ll be documenting her progress as she adjusts, learns, and starts working through training.

The first video is now up on YouTube. ❤️

Subscribe if you’d like to follow Margot’s foster journey and training progress.

Enjoy the videos and music you love, upload original content, and share it all with friends, family, and the world on YouTube.

Just a small update on what I’ve been up to lately.

Spring cleaning came early this year — I’ve been doing a lot of cleaning and reorganizing since January. Managing multiple dogs means figuring out the best way to arrange crates and space… sometimes it feels like playing Tetris trying to make everything fit.

Still have a few small things left to finish, but it’s already looking a lot better.

In the meantime, Realistic Dog Training is now accepting new clients!
