The Humboldt County Animal Shelter will be waiving their adoption fees tomorrow, June 6th to celebrate California's third annual Adopt-A-Pet Day! Check out their post for more info about the animals that will be available and the application process. If a new dog or cat ends up joining your pack, don't forget to come pick up an adoption bundle from us! Just bring your adoption certificate and we'll get you set up with a free bag of food and some treats so you can get your new family member settled right in.

Our current animals have been updated! Many new birds, amphibians, snakes, reptiles, and spiders have been added to the list since last month. Availability can change quickly, so be sure to give us a call at 707-822-6417 to ask about a specific animal or visit our animal room from 9:30AM - 5:45PM daily!

Our Kakariki babies are growing fast! This is the first time we have had Kakarikis in the store and we are absolutely falling in love with their sweet personalities and the little noises they make (turn sound on to hear).

These little parrots hail from New Zealand and are known for their inquisitiveness, high energy levels, and handleability. A home with plenty of time for daily interaction and lots of toys to chew on and play with would be perfect for these intelligent, friendly birds.

They're not quite ready to go to their new homes yet, but they will be in the next several weeks. If you're interested in any of the babies, they are available to be visited in the animal room Tuesday through Friday from 9:30AM - 5PM. 🦜🐣

The Trinidad Dwarf Tarantula is one of the smallest tarantulas on Earth! Look veryyy closely and you can see the distinctive heart-shaped pattern on the abdomen of this juvenile starting to take shape. Though small, these tarantulas are active burrowers that thrive in a fossorial habitats with plenty of substrate and places to hide. Come check out our Trinidad Dwarfs plus all of our other tarantulas, spiders, and more from 9:30 AM - 5:45 PM daily!

Baby birds have arrived! Our newest cockatiels, Bourke's parrots, parakeets, green-cheeked conures, and kakarikis are currently getting handfed by our staff and will be available to find their forever homes once they are weaned. Follow along for more photos of all of the babies and updates as they grow! 🐣
