I don’t think I’ve ever actually formally introduced myself on this page so here’s a little bit about me:

My name is Chelsea and I graduated from grooming school in 2015 and am also CPR/first aid certified. I worked in the corporate grooming world since graduating but finally broke free from that and opened my own wonderful business last year and named it Bessie Mays. The name Bessie Mays came from my soul dog that passed away in 2025 at 15 years old. She got me through a heck of a lot of good and bad times so why not name this great adventure after her?

I am blessed to have 10 dogs of my own, ranging in size from our largest being a Great Dane and our smaller being a Pomeranian , crazy I know but they all have their own unique story.

My husband and I also own and raise foundation appaloosas and have been doing that here in our hometown since 2019.

We will also be welcoming our daughter in November and are so excited.. and a bit nervous! Don’t worry though, I plan to be back to grooming by end of January. ☀️
