So very sad to hear about the passing of It’s a Southern Thing. What a significant loss for Amy and Kevin Gumz, as well as for everyone who has been connected to his lineage. This amazing stallion sired so many wonderfully talented Mini Pies! My heartfelt condolences go out to both Amy and Kevin on the loss of Moonpie. I’ve been fortunate enough to own six of his incredible minis and have another one on the way! Thank you, Moonpie, for a great run and for leaving such a lasting legacy.

With great sadness, Kevin and Amy Gumz and Gumz Farms announce the passing of Its A Southern Thing or Moonpie (as known by most). A successful show horse and leading sire, he leaves a legacy that most can only hope to experience. We are blessed to have had this magnificent horse in our lives and his impact on the industry will live on in the show arenas and breeding barns. Thank you to the breeders, owners and exhibitors for not only reaching but exceeding goals that most stallions will never attain. A heartfelt thank you the care providers and support team that made his life a better place for him and us.

The Barn Cats! They deserve the utmost respect! They have to deal with the raccoons, opossums, coyotes, mice, snakes, and all for the horses who nuzzle them! If you have barn cats post a picture of them!
