We’ve got blackberries, blueberries, squash, zucchini, cucumbers, green beans and even a couple cherry tomatoes all coming in. All the hard work is paying off. This is the best year of blackberries and blueberries we’ve ever had! Our raspberry plants are just now starting to put berries on.

We captured two swarms of bees this spring. One didn’t do well so we combined them. Checked the girls this afternoon and they look greats! Truly two deeps is too much but it is what it is right now. I’m just happy to have bees back. We took a break for a couple of years. Just before we worked them, we had cut a watermelon. We tossed the rines out in front for a little summer time treat.

Not as big of a garden going in this year, but we’re keeping it simple and manageable. We’ve got a lot of general farm maintenance to tackle, so this will let us still enjoy some fresh veggies while staying focused on everything else that needs done.

Planning to put in a row of green beans, cucumbers, squash, and zucchini tomorrow—and that’ll probably be it for us this season.
