I asked ChatGTP just exactly how far does 300,000 metric tons of ground beef in the US. 25 days. That’s it. 25 days. And spread that out over 90 days that’s 8 days per month. More of that he keeps talking about. It’s all a smoke show.
He’s not making any friends in the ag industry.

“Current estimates put U.S. ground-beef consumption at roughly 28.6 pounds per person per year.

Using a U.S. population of about 340 million:

* Annual ground beef consumption: ≈ 9.7 billion lb
* 300,000 metric tons: ≈ 661 million lb
* 661 million ÷ 9.7 billion: ≈ 6.8% of a year

So the U.S. would consume 300,000 metric tons of ground beef in roughly 25 days if consumption stayed at that rate.

That puts the proposed 300,000-metric-ton import amount over 90 days at roughly three times slower than the normal U.S. consumption rate—which explains why some analysts are calling it a relatively small addition to the overall beef supply”

Sometimes you just get lucky! I was picking and putting up our swarm traps. I figured that season was way over. I grab one and what do I see??? A beard of BEES!!! I moved them over to a 5 frame nuke. Let’s see if they make it. They had really started drawling out the frames.

This farmer right here is “out standing” in his field!!! No serious, I’m out, standing in my field bragging on my sorghum sudangrass that I drilled about 6 weeks ago. It’s not all as tall as me but a whole dang lot of it is! I’ll turn the cows out on it this weekend. I gotta check the fencing before they get turned in there. We will probably graze them for two days in it, then off for a week, then back for two days. Should help us stretch our grass out until the fescue starts growing again.

August is PRIME TIME!!!!

What can you plant in the garden in August? More than you might think!

I recently spent $8,500 on a young registered Black Angus bull. I put him out with the herd but he just ate grass and wouldn't even look at a cow. I was beginning to think I had paid more for that bull than he was worth.
Anyhow, I had the Vet come and have a look at him. He said the bull was very healthy, but possibly just a little young, so he gave me some pills to feed him once per day.
The bull started to bred the cows within two days, all my cows! He even broke through the fence and bred with all of my neighbor's cows! He's like a machine!
I don't know what was in the pills the Vet gave him .. but they kind of taste like peppermint.

Some of you all may know, some not. Our oldest son, Oliver, has been in college and in Air Force ROTC. This summer he’s been in training. It’s official! Oliver got his Prop and Wings meaning he completed his training! This is one of the toughest accomplishments of his life so far. Good job kiddo! Your Mom and I are beyond proud.
