The North Fork Country Kids:Rescue and Preservation Through Pedagogy We are an all volunteer, foster based rescue. We advocate for abandoned, stray and feral animals by promoting education in rescue. We are a 501c.

We are a volunteer only group whose mission extends to advocacy and education from the very young to the very young at heart promoting our love of animals and our home(long Island). We assist when we can and however possible. We show compassion to all and are a cross curricular/cross generational group that fosters altruism and tenacity.

Murder Mittens is polydactyl, which means he comes equipped with some extra toes (and some seriously impressive mittens). Despite his intimidating name, he’s a gentle, sweet boy looking for a family to call his own.

Twenty-five years later, we still remember.

We honor the innocent lives lost, the heroes who ran toward danger, the families forever changed, and the brave first responders who continue to carry the weight of that day.

May we always remember how our nation came together with courage, compassion, and kindness. Today, the Rescue Vixens pause to honor every life, every sacrifice, and every story.

🐾 Meet Hopscotch! 🐾

This sweet little girl is just 8 weeks old and already has quite the story!

Hopscotch was found hiding in the hood of a car in Wading River. Unknowingly, her driver took her all the way to Brentwood, through a car wash, and then back home to Wading River—where he finally discovered this tiny passenger! 😳🐱

Thankfully, Hopscotch is safe and doing great. She is sweet, loving, cuddly, and loves to be held, but she also has a playful side. ❤️

Now she’s ready for a loving forever home of her own! 🏡🐾

Volunteering matters, and even our youngest volunteers can make a tremendous difference by showing compassion, love, and support for homeless and neglected animals.

Thank you, Anna, for caring so deeply and helping with this newly discovered colony. Kim and Anna went out to assess the area, and we are now creating a plan to begin trapping and providing the cats with the care they need.

One volunteer can make a difference. Together, we can save hundreds of lives.
