Update: FOUND a new home with her Brother from another Litter 💕 thanks Nick Staples
Meet Gouda she is Out of Scout And Ivy pup from june 2022 litter.
From the current owner
Gouda is a three year old female Wirehaired Pointing Griffon. She is presently up to date on all her shots and is spayed. She is a wonderfully sweet pup who is fairly well trained with basic commands and wants to please. She is great with other dogs and with kids. She has a good nose and has been shot over with no issue, but she has not been formally trained for hunting. She is an incredible athlete and needs a lot of exercise. I think she would excel at an agility course and would love that challenge and stimulation.
We are needing to rehome her because, even though we take her on walks and hikes (off leash) , we live in a neighborhood and aren’t able to exercise her sufficiently on a daily basis. In her boredom, she has claimed the job of protecting us from strangers entering our property. She has not bitten anyone but she has been aggressive towards the FedEx driver, which did not go over well especially when he kicked her. We don’t want her or a visiting serviceman to get hurt. She does not like strangers approaching to pet her, but she becomes readily at ease once she feels safe. We have an ECollar which we occasionally use (beep not shock) to check behavior.
She is definitely a house and family dog—- she is not allowed on the furniture, but we do not tie or crate her. She is great in the car and has been in long trips with us.
She doesn’t leave the yard because of our invisible fence, but the many walkers and bikers passing by puts her on alert. She’ll bark at them, but stops when we call her away.
Gouda would be a fantastic dog for someone who is able to give her ample exercise and who lives in a fairly rural setting. A hunter, a runner, or someone interested in agility stuff would be great. Gouda needs a new job!
