K&R Small Animal Sanctuary K&R Small Animal Sanctuary is a non-profit small critter rescue located in the Fox Valley of WI. At this time we do not accept ferrets.

K&R Started in 2009 with the rescue of one small guinea pig and grew into an organization with dozens of foster homes that has helped save the lives of around 1000 animals in the first 6 years! We are a non-profit organization and all donations are tax-deductible. We currently accept rabbits, guinea pigs, hamsters, gerbils, hedgehogs, degus, tortoises, chinchillas, degus, sugar gliders and some reptiles. We are looking for foster families that will assist with rats and mice. All of our animals are kept in foster homes, and all rabbits are spayed/neutered prior to adoption. If you are interested in adopting, please fill out the adoption application on our website and we will set up a time for you to meet any of the animals you are interested in! K&R does NOT have a facility open to the public as all adoptables are kept in one of our 15-20 foster families in Wisconsin. Please check out our website for more information or send us an email [email protected]

Adoption fees for all critters can be found on our website www.krsmallanimal.com

Sadly these two have reached the milestone we hoped to never have to share. This absolutely perfect precious pair of lovebugs has been homeless and in rescue for an entire YEAR. 😭

English Setter is a spayed female lionhead mix who will turn 10 later this month and her husbun Samoyed is an 8 year old neutered male Netherland dwarf mix.

They are lovely, easy peasy bunnies who have been there and done that and just want each other, love from their people, care and a family to spend their golden years with (Edited per Samoyed’s request to add snacks please). Can you be that family for them?

English Setter and Samoyed went on a new adventure and had so much fun testing out an RV and a day camping location, but as they returned to their foster home they both agreed that they hope the next adventure takes them to their forever home.

Setter will turn 10 later this month and she and her husbun Sam (8 years old) have been with us for a year, waiting and wishing patiently to be adopted. It makes our hearts heavy when we hear people hesitate to consider a senior rabbit. Time is never promised and Setter and Sam could’ve had a whole year in their home spreading love and joy with them already with no sign of slowing down…

Truly, they are wonderful rabbits and we are shocked that they haven’t found a family yet. They’ve been to many educational events, expos and had several meet and greets yet haven’t found the one yet. These two are tightly bonded and very easy keepers. Spayed and neutered, vaccinated and microchipped. They would do well in nearly any family and don’t ask for much besides the basics, each other and love from their family (ok maybe Sam requests extra bedtime snacks and sometimes second breakfast).

Krispy Kreme is a neutered male mini lop looking for his forever home!

This super soft squishy handsome guy has lived with kids and other pets in his previous homes (he has ended up bounced around through no fault of his own) and is looking for his forever family.

He uses his litterbox, is vaccinated for RHDV2 and microchipped! Krispy loves food, enjoys exploring and a good noserub too. Krispy previously lived with a rabbit companion so he may do OK with a bunny pal if it’s the right personality match.

English Setter and Samoyed are absolute volunteer favorites and it 💔💔💔 that they are still here with us. These sweet seniors (9.5 and 8!!) are in excellent shape for their ages and don’t ask for much. They enjoy space to play and explore, hay to nibble and snacks to graze, occasional boops and noserubs and snuggling each other. Very much “easy-keepers”, Setter and Sam would be an easy addition to a bunny savvy home looking for new pals to move right in.
Because they are looking for more of a retirement community lifestyle a home with boisterous toddler humans is probably not their first choice, but they don’t mind older kiddos or other pets.

You may have noticed that we’ve been extra quiet on social media lately. Well, some things have been changing behind the scenes and we will share them soon.

However, one thing has absolutely not changed and never ever will and that is the commitment and love we have for the animals that have come through our doors over the years and are currently in our foster homes.

English Setter and Samoyed (Setter and Sam) have been with us for 11 months now and Setter was actually born in my home almost 10 years ago (October 2016!!!! she was adopted as a youngster and made her way back to us as a senior through no fault of her own). They are safe, loved and cared for but these two deserve to spend their hoppily ever after in a permanent home.

These two adore each other, food, noserubs, naps and did we mention food? They don’t ask for much (other than food) and are looking for a retirement home that will cherish them as much as we do.

Can you help us find them a home before they hit that dreaded milestone of one year in rescue???

TEN MONTHS these two have been patiently waiting to be adopted… they are literally PERFECT! We can’t believe they are still here and still looking for their forever family 😭😭

English Setter and Samoyed are just the loveliest of bonded pairs! They are very affectionate towards one another and spend nearly all of their time snuggled together in some way.

These two seniors have been with us for nearly an entire year now and we are SHOCKED that they have not been adopted yet. Setter and Sam are “easy keepers” who have lived with dogs, cats and respectful kids, use their litter boxes and have joined us at many public events. Sam can get a little extra enthusiastic about his favorite snacks and would be super duper fun to clicker train!

Spayed, neutered, vaccinated for rhdv2 and microchipped these two lovebuns are more than ready to join your family!
