We didn’t get many pics but this was just a small token of appreciation for all the hard work they put in each & every day! This job is not for the weak & they navigate it daily. You guys are the best, thanks for all you do!! 🩵🧡🐾

Some dogs leave paw prints on your heart. Opie left them all over DDG. 🩵

For nearly 15 years, we had the privilege of watching Opie grow from a playful, energetic puppy into the sweet, opinionated, sugar-faced senior we all came to know and love. As he got older, Opie became very clear about how he wanted things done—and honestly, he'd earned that right. He knew exactly what he liked, exactly where he wanted to nap, and exactly what was worth his time. And we loved that about him.

His favorite place was almost always a couch, but he would occasionally choose a patch of sunshine instead. While he wasn't always interested in eating his kibble during his stays, he was convinced he could survive entirely on treats if he held out long enough. Knowing Opie, he may have been right. He also never spent a night without a collection of toys nearby, carefully arranged to keep him company.

Opie was selective about many things, but he was always willing to share his beloved couch with the right friends. Beneath his occasionally grouchy senior-dog exterior was the same kind-hearted soul we'd known since puppyhood.

Over the years, Opie became a fixture at DDG and was loved by countless staff members, both past and present. He wasn't just a client; he was family. His absence will be felt in all the little places where he made himself at home.

To Opie's family, thank you for trusting us with him throughout his life. We have so many wonderful memories of our time with him, and we are grateful not only for the years we shared with Opie, but also for your kindness & generosity along the way.

Run free, sweet Opie. We hope there's an endless supply of comfy couches and treats waiting for you across the rainbow bridge. ❤️🌈🐾
