***please no hostility or violence, I know it's upsetting but we have to maintain a cordial relationship in order to be allowed to keep saving horses***
Message from Janel of Triple J Horse Haven
Earlier this week, the owner of the Kill Pen challenged us all to show up for these horses. To prove that the Safe act would even be a possibility with so many unwanted horses in America. He thinks he's doing the country a service by discarding imperfect, tired or wild horses. But instead we, as a rescue community, have chosen to rise to the occasion.
Anyone who has ever fought for the SAFE Act, now is your chance to fight with us. One more life spared from a violent unnecessary end. What do you say, horse warriors? Can we rise to the occasion and prove there are solutions for these
"unwanted" equines other than a horrible ending!?
Can we stand up for them and prove that this community won't shy from the challenge of saving equines in need.
This boy as he states "he would have simply shipped this one" because of his cosmetic imperfections. Boils my blood. And it should boil yours too! A horse does not deserve to die because of losing an eye. We know many amazing horses with one eye.
That is not a death sentence.
Naturally this boy caught my eye because he matches my exact type: tall, dark and handsome and considered imperfect to some people. But then I read his auction story. Bought by a trader so marked as safe in terms of not shipping to slaughter once the boarders open. But the trader decided 'nevermind' probably because of the eye and sold him BACK to the house (the kill pen) where he no longer became safe. This boy doesn't deserve anything but a soft landing and a happy ever after. Please help me give him that I make him no longer a tag number and instead a beloved member of the Triple J herd
