Last weekend, we hosted our first inaugural PUPkin Cup… and WOW, what a gourd-geous weekend! 🎃 We had fast paws, flying dogs, happy tails, a-maize-ing runs, and enough agility action to make our Florida trees shake their autumn leaves! 🍂

The PUPkin Cup featured 2 rounds over 2 days, a combination of both Standard and Jumpers courses. With certain faults allowed, the teams with the fewest faults + fastest times were able to squash their competition and earn a spot on the podium! 🏆

One of our new members, Tom and Beau, doing some pretty incredible things! 🐾 Congratulations team!!

🐾 HANDLER FOCUS BRAGS 🐾

Congratulations to Tom O'Brien and Beau!

This weekend, they participated in their very first agility trial… and they had a ✨SPECTACULAR✨ first trial at Dog-On-It Agility Club’s AKC event, attending on Friday and Saturday!

Friday - no qualifying runs, but so many brilliant and awesome things to be proud of: engagement, several sequences, and Beau had a blast with his “dad”!

Saturday - Team Beau qualified (and earned first places!!) in Novice FAST and Novice Standard.

The key to their success is their relationship, the strong connection they have, and Tom's commitment to working with Beau both in class and at home.

Tom and Beau started my Foundations class back in May of 2023. Almost a year later, they had moved up to my Pre-Competition class to hone their skills on short sequences and full-height contacts and weaves.

In the last few months, Beau's understanding of the weaves has solidified and Tom felt that together they might give actual competition a try… which was clearly very successful for this team!

As Agility Focus’ trainers, along with Tom's fellow students and teammates, we are thrilled for Tom and Beau!
