we just got news that sweet dovey is PREGNANT 🙌🏻

we can’t wait to see this baby! due late march/early april 🫶🏼 fingers crossed for a pretty roan filly 🤞🏻

baby missy is just thriving out here in the big kid pasture! every day she ventures further and further from mom and every day timber becomes less helicopter-y 😂 love them so much 🫶🏼

baby girl has a name! meet mesquite — or missy for short. she is just as spicy, prickly, and wild as her namesake 🌿🪾

i feel so grateful that i get to watch her grow! she’s loving life out with the big kids and hanging out with her mama 💚

SHE’S HERE 🌸🦋🎀

timber had a little red filly either late last night or early this morning! she’s precious and beautiful and perfect and i love her so much!! i feel like getting news that our red mare chili could never have babies and then timber having a red filly is just so full circle-ish

anyways, if you need me for the next three weeks i’ll be on the pasture staring at her 🤷🏼‍♀️👀

we got some disappointing news about chili today — we brought her up with dove to get bred this summer and i had a breeding exam done on them to make sure everything looked good. turns out miss chili was not meant to be a mama 🥲 her uterus and ovaries are not in good shape — nothing that will impact her quality of life or ability to be a normal horse but not a hospitable environment for a baby :(

so we’re weighing our options on what to do with her! i would love to keep her to babysit future colts but i don’t know if that’s the wisest financial decision. on the other hand, with her being pretty arthritic and having some pain under saddle, i don’t feel comfortable selling her either! so if anyone has any ideas or knows someone who wants a nice old lady companion horse, feel free to let me know!

back to arizona she goes 🌵🏜️ she is the best of ladies

you guys!!!! we’re excited to introduce our 2026 breeding season stud — bluecowboyshooter aka shooter!

we chose him to add a little more bone, color, and grit to our program! he brings a pedigree full of ranch-bred, working lines known for good minds, durability, and horses that hold up to real-world use — the kind built to go all day and handle cattle. he’s got a couple of colts on the ground that are turning into nice using horses already!

at daybreak, we’re on a mission to build a working man’s horse. we’re excited to see what crossing this ranch-geared stallion on our cow-bred mares gives us 👀 hopefully some roany cow ponies!!

as always this is one big experiment but we’ve got a good feeling!

the mares are headed north in mid april for breeding season so we’re deep in prep for that!

stay tuned as we do a deep dive on these crosses and bring you along for the whole journey!

p.s. shooter belongs to my really good pal .l.volt and so i’m even more excited cause now i have a reason to see her this summer 😂🫶🏼

we’ve got another special mare who joined the herd 🤍 she’s an own granddaughter of HIGH BROW CAT, a world class cutting sire! she’s a gorgeous cow / running bred cross — exactly the kind we’ve been looking for to add some height and bone to our program.

happy gotcha day to the mare that started it all 🥹

five years with the sassiest, most opinionated, gentlest, fluffiest, cowiest, best friend a gal could ever ask for! it’s such a privilege to learn alongside the best mare in the country! from unhandled kill pen sale project to my go-to gal, dallas will forever be my proudest accomplishment. she is also single-hoofedly spiking the strawberry pop tart sales in the east valley.

god save the queen of the pasture. forever may she neigh.
