Hope Ranch doing compassionate care for their community ❤️🩹
This isn't something we talk about very often. We try our best to keep our page positive, adoption focused, and happy tails. But today, we wanted to share another side of the rescue that many of you never see.
One of the ways we give back to our community is by helping low-income families with veterinary care when we can. Many of you know we provide low-cost spay/neuter assistance. That is always our #1 part our mission. Occasionally we are able to help with unexpected medical needs, and sometimes, we help families say goodbye.
Today was one of those days... This beautiful girl was 17 years old. She was deeply loved and had lived a long life surrounded by her human. Sadly, her time had come, but they were in a hard place financially, without transportation and simply couldn't afford euthanasia.
No family should have to watch a beloved pet suffer because saying goodbye is financially out of reach. But because of your support, we were able to help give this sweet girl the peaceful, dignified goodbye she deserved. Our hearts are with her family as they navigate such a difficult loss.
We also want to give a heartfelt thank you to Helping Paws Animal Hospital in Anza for the compassion they show every single day. From first puppy visits to final goodbyes, they care for everyone with kindness and empathy. We are incredibly grateful for everything they do for the Hope Ranch dogs and for the community they serve.
To be completely transparent, rescue has been incredibly difficult lately. Donations are the lowest we've seen in a long time.
When funding slows, it doesn't just affect the dogs in our rescue or the ones we could be helping. It also affects families we can help, community spay/neuter assistance, emergency medical cases we can say yes to, & moments like today, when helping someone say goodbye with dignity means everything.
If you're in a position to help, no amount is too small. Together, we can keep preventing unwanted litters, easing suffering, and giving families hope during some of life's hardest moments.
Thank you for believing in what we do and for making moments like today possible.
