We love the flash and bang of Fourth of July fireworks, but they can be a pet’s worst nightmare.

Every year, on the 5th of July animal control officers receive a huge volume of calls about pets who, frightened by the noise of the parades and fireworks, escape from their families or dig out of their yards in a desperate attempt to flee.

Don’t bring your pets to events where loud noises and bright lights are likely to scare them, and be sure that all pets spend the day safely indoors.
