💜 Sunday Story

One of my favorite parts of what I do isn’t the dog walks or even the pet sitting.

It’s seeing the trust grow.

The shy dog that eventually runs to the door when I arrive.
The cat that hides during the first visit but is asking for attention by the end of the week.
The nervous pet parent who can finally relax on vacation because they know their pets are in good hands.

Those little moments are the reason I’ve loved doing this for more than 16 years.

Thank you to every family that has trusted me with such an important part of your lives. It truly means more than you know.

As our pets get older, they deserve support that helps them continue enjoying the things they love.

Whether that’s chasing a ball, climbing the cat tree, hopping into the car, or simply greeting you at the door, healthy aging is about helping them stay active, comfortable, and engaged.

One of the newest additions I’m excited about is pawTree Optimal Aging. It’s formulated for both dogs and cats and is designed to support healthy aging from the inside out.

I don’t believe getting older means slowing down before they have to.

Summer adventures are more fun when we remember one simple rule…

If the pavement is too hot for your hand, it’s too hot for your dog’s paws.

Before heading out for a walk:

🐾 Test the pavement with the back of your hand for 7 seconds.
🐾 Walk during the cooler morning or evening hours.
🐾 Stick to grass whenever possible.
🐾 Always bring fresh water.
🐾 Watch for signs your dog needs a break.

A little planning goes a long way toward keeping our best friends safe and comfortable all summer long.

Cats may look independent, but they need daily enrichment just as much as dogs do.

A bored cat can become stressed, destructive, or even develop unwanted behaviors. The good news? It doesn’t take much to keep them happy.

Try adding a few minutes of playtime with a wand toy, hide treats around the house for a fun scavenger hunt, rotate their toys every week, or create a cozy window perch where they can watch the world go by.

Mental exercise is just as important as physical exercise.

It’s a great source of Omega-3 fatty acids that help support:

Myth: “My dog has a fenced yard, so they don’t need walks.”

Truth: A backyard is great for potty breaks and playtime, but it doesn’t replace a walk.

Walks give dogs so much more than exercise. They provide mental stimulation, new sights and smells, confidence building, and one-on-one time. For many dogs, a daily walk is one of the best parts of their day.

A tired dog isn’t always a happy dog, but a mentally enriched dog usually is.
