Lily insists on doing the dishes while she’s here!
This is what a cozy, in-home boarding environment is like. Your pup hears the same everyday sounds they hear at home, whether it’s the TV, the dishwasher, or the dreaded doorbell.

Who says housework can’t be an enrichment activity? 😂 The pups here always like to be part of the action. Sometimes that means supervising the dishwasher and making sure everything is stacked correctly!

Here are just some of the pups who have stayed with us over the last couple of weeks. They played, napped, made friends, and filled our home with cuteness.

UPDATE: Thank you all for the good wishes. I am feeling much better and am slowly getting back into the swing of things. I appreciate everyone who took the time out to message me and comment. 💛

Note: After the morphine kicked in! Not how I planned to end my night… with a trip to the ER.

What started as a wonderful day taking care of the puppers and having a great Zoom meeting quickly took a turn. I started experiencing severe pain and was also 🤮 quite a bit.

Before we left, Paul and I made sure all of our furry guests were settled into their cozy spots since we had no idea how long we would be gone. After a trip to the ER, I learned I was passing a kidney stone and also had an infection. They treated me until 1:30 a.m.

The lesson? Listen to your body.

What I thought was lower back pain from caring for the dogs and sleeping on the sofa with them was actually the start of a much bigger problem.

Thank you to my clients for being so understanding when I had to cancel daycare and scheduled visits this weekend. Self-care is important because if you don’t take care of yourself, you’re not much help to anyone else.

Mochi had a little field trip while staying with us.
Sometimes it includes a vet appointment while their family is away on vacation. In Mochi’s case, she needed her monthly injection for Addison’s disease

Addison’s disease happens when a dog’s adrenal glands don’t produce enough hormones to help regulate things like stress, hydration, blood pressure, and electrolytes. With proper treatment and monitoring, dogs with Addison’s can still live happy, active lives — and Mochi is proof of that.

She was such a brave girl for her appointment and loves the staff there. At Wag This Way we’re happy to help make sure pups stay on track with the care they need while their families are away.
