Refined Canines Dog Training

🐾 What if your dog’s boarding stay could actually make your life easier when they come home?🏡
At Refined Canines, boarding isn’t just about keeping your dog safe while you’re away. We use their time with us to build confidence, communication, appropriate social skills, and healthy relationships. 💕
We don’t believe in chaotic group play🤪. Dogs are introduced one-on-one, allowing them to learn each other’s communication, energy, temperament, and play style before adding more dogs into the picture.
And socialization isn’t always about matching dogs by size.🦴
🔥A big dog doesn’t always need another big dog, and a small dog doesn’t always need another small dog. With the right personalities, energy levels, and supervision, dogs of very different sizes can learn valuable skills from one another.
A small dog can learn confidence and appropriate communication around a larger dog, while a larger dog learns body awareness, patience, and how to adjust their play. These experiences can be especially valuable for dogs who aren’t comfortable around dogs of different sizes.🐾🐾
It’s not about throwing dogs together. It’s about teaching them how to be together.
Because the goal isn’t to send your dog home exhausted from chaotic play.😫
It’s to send them home fulfilled, balanced, better socialized, and easier to live with. ❤️🐾
That’s the Refined Canines difference.
Structured care. Meaningful relationships. Better dogs coming home.🏠

Dogs don’t lie. They show you. ❤️🐾
You can teach a dog commands.
You can teach obedience.
You can teach boundaries, manners, and structure.
But you can’t fake trust. 🤝
You can’t force a dog to look at you with that kind of love. 🥰
You can’t command genuine excitement when you walk through the door. 🚪
You can’t train the kind of bond that makes a dog choose to stay close to you simply because being with you feels good.
That comes from a relationship.
At Refined Canines, we believe training should never take the love out of a dog. In fact, it should strengthen the connection between dog and owner. 🫂
Yes, we ask for obedience.
Yes, we set boundaries.
Yes, we expect our dogs to listen.
But there is also play.
There is affection.
There is encouragement.
There is laughter.
There are moments when training stops and we simply love our dogs for being dogs. 🐕
Because our dogs give us something incredibly honest.
They show us how they feel about us.
A dog doesn’t care about your title, your money 💰 , your accomplishments. 🏆, or what anyone else thinks of you.
They know how you make them feel.
And sometimes, the way a dog runs to their person, leans into them, looks into their eyes, or simply chooses to be beside them says more about that relationship than words ever could.
Dogs don’t lie.
They reflect the relationship we build with them.
So build one worth reflecting. ❤️🐾
Train them. Guide them. Challenge them. But above all—love them.

🐾 Let Them Be Dogs Together
Introducing dogs 🐶 isn’t about putting them together and hoping they figure it out.
It’s about giving them the opportunity to get to know one another. 🤝
We believe dogs need time to observe, communicate, explore, and learn each other’s personalities. We don’t rush the relationship. We give them space to become comfortable, watch their body language, and build trust at their own pace.
Sometimes bonding happens through training.📚
Sometimes it happens through a walk.🚶‍♀️
Sometimes it happens while exploring somewhere new together. 🏞️
Adventures are a big part of building relationships. 🐾
Walking together, exploring new environments, sniffing, playing, taking breaks, and simply experiencing life side-by-side gives dogs opportunities to develop a positive association with one another without forcing interaction.
And once they understand each other, we can give them something incredibly important:
The opportunity to just be dogs together. 🥰
Run. Explore. Play. Sniff. Wrestle. Rest. Discover.
Because socialization isn’t just about making dogs interact with every dog they meet. It’s about teaching them how to coexist, communicate, and feel comfortable around one another.
🤗We want dogs to have friendships—not forced interactions.
😀We want them to have adventures—not just structured training.
And we want them to learn that being together can be safe, fun, and rewarding.
At Refined Canines, we don’t just introduce dogs.
We build relationships. We create experiences. And when the dogs are ready, we let them be dogs. ❤️🐾

🐾 When Your Dogs Mean Everything to You ❤️
Leaving your dogs behind while you travel 🧳 isn’t always easy—especially when you’re particular about who cares for them.
That’s why this review meant so much to us. ❤️ every pet owner understands how hard it can be to leave your dogs with someone you trust.
And this is exactly why we do what we do.
We want you to be able to enjoy your time away knowing that your dogs are:
🐾 Safe and cared for
🐾 Getting daily exercise and time outside their kennels
🐾 Receiving individual attention and socialization
🐾 Staying in a clean, comfortable environment
🐾 Being monitored by experienced dog professionals
🐾 And most importantly—happy and enjoying their time with us
We also believe communication matters. That’s why we send updates and videos while you’re away. Seeing your dog enjoying themselves can make all the difference when you’re miles away. ❤️
Mary and Jack, thank you for trusting us with Dixie and Sammie and for taking the time to share your experience.
Knowing that you were able to relax on your vacation because you knew your dogs were happy, healthy and well cared for is the greatest compliment we could receive.
At Refined Canines, we don’t just board dogs.
We care for them like they matter—because they do. 🐾❤️
Thank you for trusting us with your family.

Happy National Dog Day! 🐾❤️
We are 🐶 dog people through and through. When we aren’t training other people’s dogs, we’re training, playing with, and spending quality time with our own.
Even during our busiest days🗓️, we believe every dog deserves the time, attention, engagement, and fulfillment they need to be mentally, physically, and emotionally balanced.🧘‍♀️
Our dogs aren’t just the dogs we own—they are part of the lifestyle we teach. 🥰 We believe a dog trainer’s own dogs should reflect the time, consistency, relationship, and commitment they encourage their clients to build.
For us, this isn’t just a job. It’s how we live. It’s who we are. It’s our passion. 🐶❤️
Happy National Dog Day from our family to yours!
Celebrate your dog today—and every day—with time, connection, and purpose.

Leash Conditioning Starts Early 🐾
🪢Tethering and leash conditioning your puppy is about more than simply teaching them to 🚶walk on a leash—it’s about teaching them to be comfortable living their life while wearing one.
Your puppy should be able to play 🧸, explore 👀, eat🥙, relax ☺️ , interact with you, and experience everyday life on a leash without constantly being bothered or distracted by it.
Whether they’re in the house 🏠 , playing, or outside, appropriate tethering gives you a way to safely manage behavior, prevent unwanted habits, and teach your puppy how to make better choices.
The goal is conditioning, not frustration 😖. We want the leash to become so normal that your puppy barely notices it’s there—just like wearing your watch ⌚️ every day. You know you’re wearing it, but eventually you stop thinking about it.
When your puppy learns that being on a 🪢 leash doesn’t mean they have to stop being a puppy, the leash becomes a normal part of life rather than something they fight against or become frustrated by.
And eventually, when it’s time for more freedom and the leash comes off, you’ve already built a foundation for a dog 🐶 that can make better decisions without needing constant management.
The goal isn’t a puppy who simply tolerates the leash. It’s a puppy who doesn’t think the leash is a big deal at all. 😉
Condition first. Build understanding. Then earn freedom. 🐶

🥰 Safety First, Every Time
Whether your dog is returning, boarding with us for the first time, or new to our home 🏡 , safety and trust are always our highest priorities.
During those first introductions, we use a 🪢long retractable leash to give dogs the freedom to move, explore, and take in their new surroundings while still maintaining a connection to their handler. This gives us the opportunity to 👀 observe their body language, habits, comfort level, and individual needs.
As we get to know each dog 🐕 , we learn what environments they thrive in👍🏻, what they enjoy, and which dogs they may—or may not—socialize well with.
We don’t simply let dogs go and see what happens 🤦🏻‍♀️. We thoughtfully set them up for success.🙌🏻
Every interaction is intentional. Every introduction has a purpose. Our goal is for your dog to feel safe, comfortable, and confident so they have a positive experience—and are excited 😊 to come back again. 🐾
Because good boarding isn’t just about keeping your dog safe while you’re away. It’s about creating an environment where your dog is happy to be here.

WHO WORE IT BETTER? 😂☔️🐾
Same poncho.
Two very different models. 😂
🐶 Small dog: “I was born for the runway.”
🐕 Big dog: “You sure this is my size?” 😂

Sometimes happiness is just a puppy with a toy. 🧸🐶❤️

🤾‍♂️ Absolutely—we play with our dogs! 🐾
Play isn’t separate from obedience training—it can be one of the most valuable parts of it. 💰
Integrating obedience into an excited🤪, playful state teaches dogs to think🤔 and respond when their emotions are elevated ⬆️, rather than only performing commands in a quiet, predictable routine. It builds impulse control, confidence, engagement, and understanding.
When we ask for obedience during play, we give the 🐩dog the opportunity to learn that commands still matter—even when they’re excited😀. And when they respond, we can reward 💰 them with what they truly want: more play, freedom, enthusiasm, and connection with us.🫂
This creates a powerful association: control doesn’t end the fun—it helps create more opportunities for FUN🤩 .
We get to cheer our dogs on 🙌🏻, match their energy, celebrate their success, and use our enthusiasm as a reward. That engagement strengthens communication and builds a relationship where your dog wants to participate with you.🥰
Training should not mean taking the joy out of being a dog. Sometimes the best training happens when we play. ❤️🐾
